(Mackenzie’s pov)
“but dad….”
“I don’t want to hear it!” Dad or (Robin Hart) - and yes that is the producer Robin Hart - it gave me the end of the discussion look. Well, I should tell you who I am and what we’re arguing about. I am Mackenzie Hart, Robin Hart’s darter. When I was seven my mom died of a heart-attack. I look more like my mom than my dad but my dad and I have similar eye’s Mine are bluer than his though. And what we’re arguing, well he wants me to take over the family business - or so he calls it - which means going to camp all-star. Don’t get me wrong I would love to go there but I want to sing and dance not a producer. Camp all-star is where all the best performers go like Beyoncé, The Jonas Brothers, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, etc. So no I would not want to go there for reasons that are not for me but for my Dad. So here we are. You know what it is in the U.S. Virgin Islands. So I can just use it as a vacation.
“Okay, I’ll go.” I sigh.
When the jet arrives we get on a bus with only me apparently. Once we get to the camp there is a giant sign that says welcome to camp all-star. This year’s celebrity coach is Jacob dark. My smile instantly falls. Jacob and I are like oil and water we don’t mix. He once was my best friend until we were in 7th grade when he decided I was not good for his brand. Then he left my dad’s label making my dad lose a lot of money. Now he is Jacob dark famous singer, actor, and dancer. Teen vogue’s most handsome teen of the year 4 years running. The bus comes to a smooth stop. I get my bag and step out.
I start walking. Hold up are those .... they can’t be. OMG!! They are. My best friends.
“Cara, Lexi, Ellie?!” I shout excitedly. They turn around.
They all scream “mack!!” at the same time. Okay, these are my best friends. Cara has rainbow hair at the tips. She is Irish American. She plays guitar and song writes. She is also a bit boho, okay a lot of boho. Lexi has red to blue ombre hair. Her mom was a famous k-pop star. She is a dancer. She is super indie-rock. Ellie is a 3erd generation Indian American. She is an actor. She is a hopeless romantic. She is also a real girly girl. We all hug.
“I am so glad your here. This will be so awesome. The celeb coach is Jacob dark. So awesome!” Ellie said. Yeah, they don’t know about Jacob.
