Prologue
It had been raining in the Grand kingdom of Okoloma for the past four days and the sea breeze caused huge waves on the sea. The Kingdom of Okoloma had only known peace since King Edimini took the throne from his dying father Asimini Perekule. He was crowned by Alabariye the prime minister of the council of chiefs. King Edimini got married to his true love, Atili, who he was already betrothed to right from birth. Upon marriage Atili was taken to the fitting room as demanded by the Okoloma tradition. After a month, Atili came out of the fatting room. Even after all the effort to force her to gain weight she still retained her slender nature. Everything between Edimini and Atili's marriage went smoothly until a year into their marriage and Atili had not gotten pregnant. They slept together almost every night but still no result. She took different herbs and treatment but it didn't work. King Edimini was advised by Alabariye to take another wife to retain his father's throne from the hands of the other chiefs, but he refused. He knew taking another wife would break Atili's heart and besides his love for her was too strong.
Atili by now was feeling the heat. Everywhere she went she could hear people whisper and gossip about her. Most nights, she cried herself to sleep. In the history of Okoloma, there has never been a barren queen and she knew soon she would be hanged on the Ikuba tree if she failed to give the King an issue within the year. She could see the stress on her husband's face but she couldn't do anything. She ran to Temeso, the Chief priest to beg the gods to give her a child but she was met with rejection from Temeso. There was no other way, if the gods couldn't help her who would.
It had been raining seriously in the Grand kingdom of Okoloma and the Perekule throne was under threat.
