Chapter 1
Liam sat in his cozy office as usual,going through the plans for the project. He had to finish the project and go for a business trip in Canada. He shifted his eyes from the file in his hand to his secretary who was sitting on the sofa a few meters from his desk. He stared at her for a while before shifting his eyes back to the file. Alicia,who was unaware of the stare was busily focused on the work she had to complete. She was very exhausted but had to finish it before going home. The office was enveloped in silence with the flipping of papers and scribbling of pens being the only source of sound. After a while, Liam placed the files down and gathered them up.
"Deliver them first thing in the morning." He said as he got up to leave. Alicia nodded and also got up. It was almost 10pm but the city was still lively. She walked down the quiet street humming an unknown tune. She lived a few blocks away from the office which made it easy to get home early.
"Huh!..". She exclaimed and slumped lazily on her bed. She felt so lazy to even take a bath due to exhaustion. She gathered strength and got up. After having a warm bath, she crawled unto the bed and fell asleep immediately her head touched the pillow.
The next morning, she got up early as usual even though she wished to sleep some more😥.
" Good morning Miss Alicia" the security guard greeted when she arrived.
" Good morning Mr. Blake." She walked in with her a charming smile on her face. Some employees greeted her on the way to which she responded politely.
"Miss Alicia is so cool" a female employee commented happily with admiration written all over her face.
"And beautiful too" another one said with a dreamly expression.
"She is so polite"
"And kind too". They kept on singing praises to her oblivious of how cunning she actually is.
Alicia walked elegantly through the hallway up to the CEO's office. Liam would not be coming to the office to today, which meant that she had a lot of things to do. She began working as soon as possible. She so so immensed in the work that she failed to notice when it was lunchtime. A take away was suddenly placed in front of her. She already knew it was from the slender fingers.
"Taking a break won't hurt,you know?" Sarah sat in front of the Alicia.
"Try being the CEO's secretary and bring me a report later" she said in her tired voice. Sarah began to laugh at her friend. She had been Alicia's friend for a long time and knew how dedicated Alicia was to her work. She went back to work when lunchtime was over. Alicia was so tired. It was almost 11pm and she was now on her way home. All she kept thinking about was her bed. Words couldn't describe the happiness she felt when her back hit the bed. She fell asleep immediately. She snapped her eyes opened when she heard a creak sound from the hall. She sat up slowly and quietly. She took out the gun that she hides under her pillow then steadily walked to the door and hid behind it. She knew exactly who it was. As she hid behind,the door was suddenly opened. A pair of long legs appeared inside. When the person was close enough,she threw her leg into the aielr hitting him right in the jaw. "Uhg.. fuck!" He exclaimed and staggered almost falling. She threw her leg again this time hitting him in the cheeks. The force was so strong that it snapped his head to the side with a crack. He fell down flat on his face. She stood there looking down at him. This people were beginning to piss her off. She knew what they were after and she was definitely not gonna give it to them. Her father had given it to her to protect it before he died. She picked up her phone which was on the nightstand and dialed a number.
"Uncle Li" she said when the call came through.
" Are you alright" came a voice from the other end.
" Can you please send some of your men to come clean up a mess for me" she said childishly.
"How many?" He asked sounding a little worried.
" Just one..." She stopped talking when she saw a red Dot on her chest.
"Fuck" . She got down, missing the bullet which was shot at her.
"Al.. are you okay?" Her uncle asked worriedly when he heard the gunshot.
" Yh but it seems they are not done with me " there was a rain of bullets being shot at her.
" I'll send some backup" Uncle Li said and cut the call.
" Am so gonna kill this people for ruining my sleep" she said in a serious tone
