Avyanna's Pov

I woke up and turned to look at the clock. Damn it. I overslept. At this rate Lucas will never get to have his favorite breakfast.
I finally got up and dressed into a simple crop top with bleached jeans. I rummaged through my closet until I found my black ankle boots.

I then went to the kitchen to whip up some pancakes for Lucas. Not five minutes later he came stumbling in the kitchen blinking sleepily.

His sable black hair was still mussed up. I sniffed the air. He smelled like perfume, peaches to be exact.

"Really Luke," I said exasperatedly. "We're turning 18 in two weeks and you are still sleeping with other girls. What if you meet your mate?"

He simply grinned at me. "Go get dressed and get that slut up while your at it." He grinned again and walked out. I shook my head. I turned around and prepared a coffee for my mother. Mom quietly accepted the cup.

"You finally decided to get up and cook?" My mother meant it as a joke and I knew it. "Just shut up and eat the meal I prepared for you child, I said teasingly.

Some girl came in the room. I figured she must be the girl Luke slept with last night.

"Eat your breakfast and get out before the Alpha arrives.

The girl nodded her head. Lucas came in and helped himself to some pancakes.

"Speaking of mates, what are you going to do?"

"I'll attend the Birthday Ball aka the Mating Ball (shooting a glare at their mother) and hope not to find my mate."

Hester: Very good, was short too the point , not lingering on the abuse, pity you didn’t let him step in earlier knowing the abuse was happening, but this is almost real for some women who have gone through it, just wish they could all have a princess at te end of thete tunnel
