Stargazer
I sat there on the edge of the riverbank in silent reverie.
Finding peace and comfort in the still of the night while the rest of the world sleeps.
I counted the stars one at a time.
Each wish made with you in mind.
Hoping wherever you are, you feel that pull to me that I feel towards you.
And that these stars bring you the same comfort when it’s your turn under the moon.
For now I’ll just whisper my prayers out into the universe almost like a silent plea.
That she’ll find a way to cross our paths - that she’ll find a way to bring you home to me.
