"The struggle between Carter and Aryie is intriguing. Carter's obsession with/of Aryie doesn't seem "natural" in that it wasn't a love obsession, but seemed to be a possession. That first kiss must have been real intense to create the obsession. "

"It is a strange and beautiful story of a relationship which is between a man and a mermaid. Both know it is not love. Then what it is? The mermaid is dependent upon the man who saved his life but the man believes that the mermaid is his possession. The mermaid and the man belong to different species. They cannot think, rationalise or love alike. Doing this masterfully, the author questions the human love, the illogical logic behind it. "
