AN UNEXPECTED ENCOUNTER
“All of her features were usual I guess, but something about the spark on her eyes, or the glint in her smile, made it impossible for anyone to forget her."
--------------
It was a normal night at Hogwarts for most students, or al least as normal as it has been since that dreadful night... Halloween. Dont get me wrong, most people LOVED halloween but that years Halloween had been interrupted by the chamber of secrets opening. It was Harry Potter’s last day at Hogwarts and, to say the least, he was INCREDIBLY happy he, along with he’s friends, closed the Chamber. The Golden Trio were out of bed out of curfew to say a last goodbye to Hagrid for they doubted they would see him the next day before boarding the train. Unknown to them, a pair of twins were also roaming the halls with their best friend, trying to get one last end-of-year prank to the Slytherins.
The Golden Trio were turning a corner after their meeting with Hagrid when they came face to face with the infamous pranking trio. All of them raised their wands, still alert after all the schools events. Harry, Rons and Hermione discarded the invisibility cloak, making them visible for the other trio. When they spotted each other they instantly relaxed and lowered their wands.
“Now, now...” George started with a evil smirk on his face.
“What do we have here?” Fred finished with the same smirk firmly set on his face.
“Not causing trouble I hope” Lee finished.
Harry started stuttering out an excuse as Ron started getting almost as red as his head, while Hermione took charge. “Oh shut up!” She snapped “Your out of bed too!”
Fred, George and Lee were slightly taken aback by the young Gryffindor whilst Harry and Ron started smirking, knowing fully well how scary their friends could be. However the shock didn’t last long and just as Fred was about to answer they saw six friends rounding the corner as well. They all turned at the same time to face the intruders, taking out their wands but they were to slow.
Meanwhile in heaven, a certain Potter was near having a heart attack.
“James Potter calm down!” Lily Evans-Potter chastised him.
“But Lily! They’re finally meeting!” James Evans-Potter exclaimed.
“I know but we’re gonna miss it if you keep shouting!” She bit back, although you could see an amused smile on her face.
“Oh right! Everyone silence!” He yelled at the rest of the group.
“Us? You were the one freaking out and squealing like a little girl.” Marlene McKinnon said, pointing a accusing finger at him while she rested on her wife’s, Dorcas McKinnon, lap.
“I DO NOT squeal like a little girl!” James defended himself.
“You kinda do” Regulus Black assured with a grin, having to duck a pillow moments later.
The first to notice them was a certain brunette that took no time at all in taking out her wand and saying with a firm voice “Expelliarmus!“. Not a second later ALL of their wands (except for the other five people that were with her) flew the now outstretched hands of her companions.
Alerted by their friend’s spell, they all took out their wands as well. All five of them took the wands and then drew their own and repeated at the same time “Venti!“. A gust of wind left all four of their wands and hit the other six Gryffindors, knocking them all off their feet. They moved in perfect sync, all of them knowing exactly what the other was going to do. After they were satisfied with their results, they stopped at the same time and looked down at their victims.
“Dam” (AN.:If you get the reference I love you!) Marlene stated. “She’s a badass.”
“Just like her mother.” Dorcas finished fondly while everyone smiled a bit, that was before Regulus started smirking.
“I don’t know...” He started “That smirk was ALL Black”
“You wish!” Jack Bright exclaimed as he smirked at him “That talent is all Bright!”
The two were in the middle of a staring battle when James intervened. “Okay thats enough! Don’t start snogging please!”
The first to break the silence was a certain red-headed girl. “Fred? George? Ro-Oh for Godric’s sake what are you doing you almost gave us a heart-attack!“. Fred, George, Ron, Harry, Lee and Hermione all stared at her dumbfounded, all of them thinking the same thing. WE scared You?. Besides that all of them noted how, even though she claimed they scared her, she never looked out of control, not for a second, none of them did.
After a few more silence-filled moments, a blonde Ravenclaw piped up a “Are you alright? Ooohhhh! You must have Wackspurts messing with your brains, that would explain your inability to speak.”
“Luna, I really doubt they have Wackspurts in their brains.” Neville, the third companion of the brunette said in a gentle voice.
“Neville? Ginny? What are you doing here?” Hermione said in a confused voice. the five turned to look at each other with mischievous smirks in their faces.
“Now, now my dear Hermione” Ginny started with a evil grin to rival her brothers. At that moment, Ginny looked like her brothers lost triplet.
“Why do you want to know?” Neville added with a smirk and a teasing note in his voice, something that was extremely unusual for the normally stuttering and nervous Gryffindor.
“Not that it matters anyway” Luna said, her voice just slightly less dreamy than usual.
“Cause you know the saying” A unfamiliar boy piped up, he had black hair and blue eyes. He wore Hufflepuff robes and had a smirk similar to his companions in his lips.
“Ask no questions” another unfamiliar person added, only she was a girl and was wearing Slytherin robes. She had blond hair, green eyes and, of course, the same smirk her friends sported. Upon seeing her all of them (except Hermione) tensed up, it was one thing seeing their, in some of their cases, friends out of bed but with a Slytherin? Now that was unusual.
“Hear no lies” The brunette finished. She had a dark brown kinda hair and brown eyes with flicks of hazel here and there. She was kinda small but not enough for it to be unusual, despite that she held herself with so much confidence and power, she looked like someone you didn’t want to cross. All of her features were usual I guess, but something about the spark on her eyes, or the glint in her smile, made it impossible for anyone to forget her.
Harry, Ron, Hermione, George and Fred looked confused, they all knew Neville and Ginny (either from school or home) and were at a loss as who the people she was with were. it was clear they were close, with how they finished each other sentences and how they seemed to move in perfect sync, something about them seemed... right. It was like they were a whole entity.
“Ginny, who are they?” George asked, not even caring about looking rude. He wanted to know who they were and how he hadn’t heard about them when it was obvious her little sister looked so at home with them.
“Oh right!” The Hufflepuff kid said “Im sorry, that was rude of me. I’m Frank” He said extending a hand for them to shake but no one took it considering they were all still to confused as to grasp what the hell was happening. “Right..” Frank trailed off after seeing no one was going to take his hand.
All in heaven face-palmed.
Fabian and Gideon started shaking their heads. “Just for the record, Fred and George take after Arthur’s side of the family...” Fabian said solemnly before grinning along with Gideon. “Except for the pranks, thats all us.”
The rest of the sextet narrowed their eyes at the six other people in the corridor. The Brunette, that was laying against a wall in relaxation pushed herself off it and tensed up at the same time as the rest of them. None of them had their old smirks, they now had scowls on their faces and clenched fists. Frank, sensing the tension turned around to face them giving them a pleading look combined with a warning one. Him, being the kind soul he was, wanted to stop the conflict before it started.
“Dammit, I hoped Harry got to know her better before he died” James said before getting smacked on the head by Lily.
“Nah ah, I told you once before Potter, keep your son away from my niece!” Jack almost shouted at James.
“I second that” Regulus affirmed.
“Well I really can’t do anything from up here now can I?” James responded sticking his tongue out at the pair.
Hermione, sensing they shouldn’t get in a fight with the people who disarmed them so easily. She knew all of them were excellent wizards and on her case, witch but the sextet in front of them looked like a team in every form of the way and even though she though of the duo beside her as her family, she almost didn’t know the trio on the other side of her. Quick thinking, she stepped forward and extended her arm with a “Hello, Im Hermione Granger.”
Frank sent her a grateful smile and a wave. The others seem to relax a bit, all except the Slytherin and the Brunette. The rest of Hermione companions snapped out of their daze and introduced themselves. After they were done, the mysterious sextet looked over to the brunette, almost as if asking if she approved. Fred, George and Ron looked hurt at their little sister but she didn’t look the least bit sorry, it didn’t rub them a good way the fact she was asking for someones opinion to talk to her brothers. The brunette stared at the six people in front of them, a unreadable on her face as she scanned over the people in front of her for a moment, and they had to admit, she looked scary, like downright terrifying. That was, until her face broke into a smile. Instantly everyone relaxed and the rest of her friends smiled too. She took one step forward so she was in between her companions and the other Gryffindors and placed her hand in front of her in a form of greeting.
“Charlotte, Charlotte Bright.”
