"Brooklynn, can you please come down from your bedroom? We have guests over." I sighed and changed into a nice dress; 'we always have to look better than guests,' my mom says. I went downstairs to see an old man and woman wearing a tuxedo and a red dress. They looked about 46-50. "Hi, Brooklynn!" Looks like they were here for me. "Hello.. Mr and Mrs.."
"Johnson! But you can just call us Amelie and James." I forced a smile. "Yeahh.. So uh- Why are you here?" She grabbed a letter from her purse(her diamond purse!) and just then my sister, Laila came down. "Well, we've accepted you into our school. I hope you can come. It's a public school that you enrolled in. Your cousin is also going."
"Aunt Cleo's daughter?" I said. I hadn't seen Aunt Cleo since the car incident. "Yes," She smiled. "Although you have to walk with her." My mom chimed in. "Cleo isn't well enough to drive yet."
"Mom, let's just go see her already. Please?"
"No Brooke. You know your aunt is in a bad condition and can barely stand. You heard your principal. Go get changed and all ready for your new school!"
I'd been homeschooled my whole life. My mother and father are highly overprotective ever since the Missing girl and Aunt Cleo's crash. Although they worry about my little sister much more,(the missing girl was her age.) I still would like to have friends and fun at a high school. This is why I enrolled in Freestyle High school. A cool public school with all my to-be-friends! And I always wanted to go to school like my cousin, Maya.
*the next day*
My dad came into my room and knocked on the bed stand. "First day of school!"
"Is aunt Liz here to drive me?"
Aunt Liz is my Mom's bestest friend. They met in middle school and have been friends. Although we aren't related, me and her daughter are extremely close, and her and my Mom are even closer. Me, Maya, and Her (Aria) are such close friends. We're all going to the same school, and Aunt Liz always drives us to places.
"Yes, she's here. But it's raining, so go quick." I got dressed into a random outfit, (lucky it was not pajamas) and ran into Aunt Liz's car. "BROOKIEE!" Maya and Aria yelled. "Hey Brookie-Boo, how's Stacey and Alex,"
"Fine." I whipped out my phone and started playing games with Aria and Maya. "Maya how's your mom."
"Sh-She's not doing well."
"Oh Maya don't cry. Your mother was a strong young 7th grader when I was in highschool. It's just some broke limbs, right ? :)" She said smiling. "Soo how's Uncle Scott." Maya says.
"Still on that work trip. It's been 3 weeks! I miss him. He's coming back soon."
"Hey Aunt Liz," I asked, "How were my parents?"
"They were such partying freaks! I rembember how at the dance your father cheated on Stace with CLEO!! HA! and it was juts a dare, so Cleo shrugged it off and They fell in deep love."
"My mom? Really-" Maya said, but Aria was nudging her. It had been a long ride, but we had finally reached.
