Obsession
I admit it. I was totally obsessed. I mean, I've seen beautiful before. But she was a whole other level of gorgeous. I couldn't stop thinking about her. Every moment my attention or focus wasn't on something important, I was thinking about her.
If I'm being completely honest, I should be more focused on my work today. We have a big client coming in and I'm presenting this afternoon. But images of her keep flashing in my mind. There was just something about her. Her eyes. They just melt me.
I find myself thinking about our future together. The things we could do together. The places we'd go. It was like I could see it all. I've never felt like this before. This wasn't puppy love.
I finally got my presentation together just in time for lunch. I decided I was going to act on my feelings. I just couldn't wait anymore. This was it. This was my moment. I was going to go for it. I made a quick call before heading out to make sure she was still there. She was. It was a go.
I got in my car and headed out of the parking lot. I had just enough time. I could do this within my hour lunch break and get back to prepare for my 2 PM meeting. I was so pumped.
It was only a ten minute drive to get here. My heart was pounding. But I had to have her. She was everything I'd been searching for. It was love at first sight for me. Now I was going to commit. It'd be worth it.
It seemed like a mile long walk from the parking lot. I had a smile plastered on my face as I approached the pet store. Would she notice me or remember me? I didn't know. I did know in the next few moments she'd be mine. I'd finally have the golden retriever of my dreams.
Today was going to be a great day.
