Chapter 1
Chapter One:
The haze of the morning guides me out of my slumber as the light creeps it way through the window hitting my eyes with intense brightness. Covering my burning retinas with my hands a shadow draws closer to me. “Y/N GET THE FUCK OUT OF BED” screams a voice from above me, violently stripping the sheet on top of me and dragging it to the floor. My eyes peak through to see my mother drenched in anger and frustration ripping clothes and throwing them in to an open suitcase placed on the floor. “Surprise holiday?” I chuckle to myself hauling the duvet back over me to shield from the mad woman tearing through my room when the door slams downstairs. Jumping up to hide behind the mad woman who turns around to meet my eyes, “We’re out of money y/n” stares an empathetic face peering into her daughters’ eyes, “What...?” I reply. “We have been trying to get through these past couple weeks without you knowing but we are drained, completely” “So we are running away, is someone coming to get us?!” I back away to lock the door to whoever is downstairs.
“Stop” she commands, “I’ve made the decision for both of us to help this investor, you are going to live with this company, and I know a man there that will look after you.” Pure confusion and pain courses its way through my veins “You’ve sold me...?”, I stare into her cold dead eyes, I wish I could see a small sense of compassion behind them, but it seems the greed of money has driven it out of her. The door behind me swings open to reveal two Men in the doorway, one with knifes taped to his sides and a gun hoisted into their belt and one standing there completely unarmed but harnessing with the most piercing blue eyes I had ever seen. A petite woman in a flowing red dress with gold plaited jewelry sprawled across every inch of her body pushes them apart and death stare the woman that gave birth to me. She does not even deserve the term mother, a mother is supposed to protect and care for their children, not sell them to some random company but I am looking her in the eyes, and she looks just as terrified as I am, these people must be serious.
I flail my limbs around while being lifted off the ground pleading with my mother “I’m sorry, I’ll get a job, I’ll get fifty job, I’m sorry, PLEASE!” her eyes remain glued on the beautiful woman flipping through a wad of cash, counting how much she owes. She slaps a thick layer of cash into the hand of my birth-giver and turns back to me placing her tacky manicured nails against my cheek “She will do well” hisses out of her scarlet lipstick. “Its not all there” peers the woman over her shoulder “That’s all your getting” scoffs the weaponized man on my left gripping so tightly on my arm I can already feel a bruise forming. “What?! You promised me atleast a couple more thousand! This is outrageous!” The nails retract from my skin and curl into a fist, the crimson woman nods to the man on my side. I scream for my life while the blue-eyed heathen struggles to drag me out of my bedroom door and hear my door slam behind me, it hits me. I shut my eyes tight and fall limp preparing for the worst pain in my life. BANG. The gunshot echoes through the walls, doors then my heart, she’s gone. The crimson woman struts down the staircase, a creepy smile etched on her face, following behind her splotches of blood being shook off on the wooden steps, my own mothers’ blood.
