Struggle and triumph

"Super is a story of struggle. Not in a physical sense, but of struggle with ones own inner demons. There are a plethora of books out there that try to tackle this subject matter, but I have yet to read one that made me feel the struggle like Super. It was deep, thought-provoking, sometimes painful, but always real. Part of why this book hits so hard is that the struggles and the characters are so relatable. It is so easy to imagine having the same exact thoughts and actions as you read along. Read it. You wont be wasting your time. "

Flawless execution

"If ever you wondered what REAL people with REAL desires would do if given powers, the constant battles they would face, or the possible self loathing that comes with being different, this is the story for you. Well structured, relatable and best of all you come out caring for the characters. I will admit I shed some tears in some parts and quite literally laughed out loud at others and that's what makes this story so very engaging from beginning to end"

Real good

"I thought this was a great take on super powers and the burden that comes with them, not just the responsibility that Ben Parker talked about but what you might get when you combine real human feelings and behavior with supernatural abilities. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. It has an unpredictable plot, excellent character development, and an engaging writing style. I recommend this story to anyone who ever imagined how great it would be to have a superpower because Barrett flips that typical heroic scenario on its head."

No Trouble with Super

"Once I sat down and started, I couldn't stop reading. The concept is really interesting to me. As someone who loves action/superhero movies and books, I like the idea of a regular people with super powers. The characters drive this story with their vulnerability and realistic reactions to being "super." I was surprised to find that each character was more compelling than the last, which was highlighted by the fact that chapters were written from different perspectives. Rather than a series of disconnected stories, the tales of the characters were woven together in a subtle and understated way. Take a chance and commit to reading at least the first 3 chapters to see for yourself!"

Super Entertaining!

"The Trouble with Super is that you can't stop reading it. Mr. Barrett's characters are all to easy to relate to even if you don't have a super quirk of your own, and their plight is both heart-rendingly funny and heart-warmingly sad at the same time. It's a bit like Office Space meets the Matrix--by the end of the book you'll be thrilled to discover you've painlessly become a more insightful and compassionate member of the all-too-human race."
