Prologue

Since the first stone was thrown, the art of war has become second nature to mankind. Throughout our long history, war has evolved, becoming more drastic and violent with each conflict. Over the centuries countless armies have assembled, numerous battlegrounds soiled with death. Humanity would simply desensitize itself to the graphic carnage it would cause. Massive amounts of pain and bloodshed would spread to every corner of the world. This chaos continued till the world was finally at its brink. A blitzkrieg of epic proportions erupted globally causing a massive amount of deaths in the world's population. It was this cataclysmic event that would finally fill our seemingly endless bloodlust. Humanity had finally learned from its violent history, and decided to abandon it. A day unlike any other would soon arrive, one where war would be abolished entirely. The ruling political parties and governments of each nation came together to achieve a common peace. After many months of debate, a new form of government was founded, and all previous governments would be abandoned. In the rebirth of society, thousands of people, elected from every part of the world, were chosen to form a new order, one that would ensure unity and brotherhood across the globe. This order was christened The Council of Heiwa, and they would ensure peace and harmony for decades. Technology would advance epidemically, creating resources embedded within nature itself. This new world bloomed with wonder, as the boundless wonders continued to flow, and societies heiwa would prosper.

Unfortunately, changing one’s nature is much easier said than done. It would not be long before many would succumb to the greed and hatred in their hearts. Soon the ways of the past resurfaced, and a horrid blemish sprouted upon the face of this new society. An organization claiming to be The Coming Zetsubou, would preach that strength was what should rule, and that the Council and its “peace” was in actuality trying to subjugate the people's right to live by their own strength. This ideology would soon become infectious. Many would rebel against the peace and invoke violence once more. Proving to be a rising concern and a threat to the still new peace, the council assembled to find a way to counter this rising threat. They would debate their next course of action on top of a mountain, its top adorned with precious metals,. These metals would be harvested to form a large stadium. This coliseum would become the Gilded Hall, a meeting place for the Council during the most drastic of times. The discussion would not prove efficient, as the council failed to agree on a proper way to deal with the rising threat. It was on the forty second day of this fabled discussion that the world would be forever changed. The Gilded Doors would burst open and cool mountain air would pierce the dry heat of the coliseum. A grizzled man entered the hallowed halls with several chained black clad men in tow. As the men were brought in, the entire hall would gasp in shock. These men were assassins, undoubtedly here for less than civil reasons. Upon further inspection each assassin was spouting multiple wounds and injuries. The Hall previously filled with commotion was now silent. The man kept in his bruised and bloodied hand a sword, its blade shone a dim crimson as the light reflected upon the blood-soaked weapon. It seemed to hum at the slightest swing, as if it wished to pierce the very air itself. The man raised his sword high over his head and released a booming cry from his lips. His words would become the basis for the answer to the council's problem. These were the words that would soon change the world’s very way of life.
