My heart burns with the thought of you

Your face imprinted in my brain

You lit me up as a candle a dark room

The way I dream of you constantly is making me think I’m insane

I might be, yes

Insane

However do you make my chest feel like it might explode?

I don’t understand it

The embers burning slowly inside will never be silenced

Do yours burn too?

The look you give when she’s around

The embers turning to hatred

Butterflies destroyed with an angry vile

Depressive fluids taint my blood

Why must you hurt me in this way?

The worst kind of torture is the kind you don’t expect

The kind that hits you when your guard is down

That’s why after that day I never lowered it again

For evermore I will always spite

You repented to me and I turned away

Never again will you touch my heart

I’ve ripped it from your grasp

Locked behind cages, steel bars, and tied down with ropes

Alone in the darkest crevice of my body

Shall it never fear the fear of breaking again

Alone in my chest for evermore

If I could

I would have ripped it from my body entirely

I don’t need it to survive

Yet I do, but I won’t

Shall the cages be opened, steel bars dropped, and ropes untied

Shall also be the day I perish from this universe

I refuse to allow my beating heart to overwhelm my head again

So in turn for my heart overtaking the pulsing traitor in my chest

I hold it captive for the rest of my forever

For the rest of my forever shall my embers never burn again
