Chapter 1
The hotel lobby is in a rush. The manager is talking to the staff. And they are nodding their heads.
"I heard the minister is coming as a visitor this weekend."
"And its friday already."
"Jeez. Watch your way kid." I yelled.
"These people only care about the minister's visit. It might affect our summer trip." Students were asked to go to Miami with the school for the summer.
My group has been talking since arrival. There is for sure no way to shut them up. Its not like I am not excited or anything like that. Infact, I get butterflies in my stomach by thinking about the trip.
My best friend Maya tells me she is sad because high school is almost over. I assure that we are going to college together, what can be much better than that??
"Its our senior trip sis." Maya squeaked.
"Yeah I know!" I literally screamed. But no one would care because my excitement was nothing compared to these teenager's excitement.
Me and Maya are best friends since play school. We see each other as sisters. Maybe because we are the only child in both our families. Or maybe because no one ever tried to separate us. If she would have an older brother, he would have looked so awesome. And might have been my crush.
My bubble of thoughts bursted when someone shook me and said its our turn at the reception. I and Maya are going to share the room. Well, we decided that as soon as we came to know that the school is taking us out for the summer trip.
"We'll share the room." I said to the receptionist.
"Yeah, Ellen and Maya."
Its been a few moments while the receptionist was looking for the free room.
"Oh come on, others want to have their room too." Some voice said.
I turned to look at a handsome teenager, having black eyes.
"Oh yeah? Well its not our fault this lady can't find a room, Everyone else is waiting, you can wait for some time too." I said sarcastically. Jordan is the clown of the class, and one of the best basketball player.
"No, we can't wait if you are taking forever."
"No."
"Oops, backfired." He chuckled.
"Well, I can wait if I get to share the room with you." Carter was blushing.
"Nah! Never gonna happen."
"Come on Ellen, give him a chance. He is my friend and I know him so good, and..."
"And I talked to him," Maya said pointing to Jordan "and we think you guys are great for each other." Maya completed Jordan's sentence.
"Oh my god, look who's talking. You guys complete each other's sentence, don't you think you two should be a couple?" Both of them scoffed.
"See." I chuckled.
We took the keys to our room and moved towards the corridor.
"Hey Ellen!" Carter shouted from the queue. I turned around and went back to him. Jordan was speaking to the receptionist.
"Think again before rejecting my proposal. I won't beg you everytime."
"Don't try to be cool, it makes people look like an idiot. And, after listening to this, I wonder u still like me or not."
I heard Jordan saying that Carter messed up while going back to my room.
