Rosalyn woke up in a sour mood, instantly wishing she could kill whoever invented alarm clocks.
She had an unnatural pinkish hair. Most "strawberry-blondes" looked like a regular blonde to her. Her hair was much more accurate to that description.
Her hair was almost a mixture of lavender and pink with a small smudge of grey. Her eyes were emerald green, like her father's. But other than that, she was the spitting image of her mother.
Her older brothers shared several traits with her, but the only physical thing they had in common was their unnatural hair color.
Marvik, being the eldest, rarely had time for real fun. His idea of fun consisted of ignoring the world outside the house. His crystal blue eyes matched their maternal grandfather's, Jeremy Black. But don't let his silence fool you, he's well trained and will do anything to protect those he loves.
Julian, on the other hand, is his opposite. He's more about partying than studying. He constantly steals a few things from Marvik, knowing Marvik could care less as long as he was silent. For example, Julian noticed Marvik never used the motorcycle that had been gifted to him on his seventeenth birthday, so he took it and used it to lure girls. His eyes match his mother's smoky-grey eyes. Despite his playfulness, he's serious when it comes to family and he, too, has been trained in combat.
As for Rosalyn, the youngest child of the family?
She was a mix of her brothers, not liking parties yet loving the thrill of riding a motorcycle. Loved books yet hated school subjects.
Each of them were trained in combat and were properly taught about the rules of etiquette. They had a natural way with words.
Marvik with his informative and respectful public speeches. Julian with his playful yet alluring sex appeal. And of course, Rosalyn, with her sweet soft voice that had a crazy edge.
It was all an act on her part, or at least that's what she hoped. She liked seeing people that underestimated her run away in fear after her warnings reached their ears. But she, herself, feared losing her sanity and following her great grandmother's footsteps.
Her great grandmother, Bianca Ivy, had lost her sanity after she turned eighteen. It was unnoticeable at first. But it escalated quickly to the point that her own husband had to kill her before she wiped out all existence on earth.
Rosalyn had been keeping secrets from her family, that she had similar dreams and powers as her "crazy" great grandmother.
It was expected for a female of their family to have more chances of having great power in the magical field. But Rosalyn knew that the less she was compared to Bianca Ivy, the less likely she would be hurt.
"Rosalyn!"
She groaned and grudgingly got up. No sooner had she gotten to her feet than she was crushed in Julian's arms.
"Rosalyn, promise me you won't let any guy touch you, alright? And if for some reason you are incapable of defending yourself, do whatever the fuck you have to do to reach me,Marvik, or Dad."
"You forgot about me, Julian." Their mother said, rolling her eyes. "And on the opposite end, if you find yourself a boyfriend, I hope you won't make me a grandma when I'm still this young. That goes for you, too, boys.
Due to her brothers being much older than her (Marvik was 21, Julian was 19), she was forced to walk alone to school. She was only two years younger than Julian. He could've at the very least dropped her off.
Unfortunately, nothing got in his way when it came to his favorite sports.
On her way to her school, which was thankfully only thirty minutes away from her home, she bumped into someone.
That someone was male and black-haired. She was trying to avoid his eyes but it was difficult when she could feel intensity of his gaze. When she finally looked into his eyes, she unprepared to see dark eyes that flashed golden for a split second.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Hunter Gremory panicked when he saw his dark chocolate eyes reflected on her emerald green eyes. His eyes weren't supposed to flash golden unless he got mad, into war mode, found his soulmate, or if he felt any type of threat (including a guy flirting with his girl).
He looked at her a bit longer to try to find out why she seemed so familiar. Her lavender-ish hair and her eyes reminded him of someone. But he couldn't remember who.
"I apologize, sir. I'd take more time to properly apologize, but I can't be late on my first day!" She called out as a she made a break for it, running as fast and as far as her legs could carry her.
Hunter noticed she was heading towards his school, so he ran after her. He knew how to get to his new school, he simply didn't know if it would be like last time when he was forced to move.
"Look what the cat dragged in." A redhead sneered.
Ugh. Not this again. "Considering I'm the feline, I, unfortunately, have to endure looking at your grotesque existence." Rosalyn said, smiling as she turned away from the annoying redhead.
Most redheads weren't as mean as Rosalyn's archnemesis, Ruby Midford. So whenever she insulted Ruby, Rosalyn had to make sure it only applied to Ruby.
Her eyes widened in surprise when she saw the boy she had bumped into talking with her worst nightmare, Jason Hope. Ironically enough, he destroyed other people's hopes and dreams. Sure, he was handsome with blonde hair and blue eyes, but his personality was too much for most girls to handle.
Even the girls that didn't plan on long-term relationships and simply wanted him for their own needs had a hard time controlling him. There were rumors going around that when he screwed with a girl, he couldn't get enough of the girl and that the girl ended up with many bruises.
Rosalyn didn't want to deal with Jason, or as she had nicknamed him "Mr. Lost Hope". She called him that behind his back whenever she wanted to talk badly about him (aka curse him for whatever-he-did-this-time) without him knowing.
However, the idea of letting the new guy deal with an angry "Mr. No Hope" all alone made her feel bad. Curse my soft heart and my conscience, she thought as she walked in front of the new guy while facing Jason.
"Leave him alone!"
"Or what? You know the treaty our grandparents made is slipping and if you fight me, you'll only make your family look bad." Jason snarled.
She raised an eyebrow, effectively hiding her fear. "What did anyone do to you this early in the morning to get you so....pissed?" She asked innocently evading his question.
"Nice try. How about you ask him." Jason snapped, glaring at behind her.
Shit, what did this guy do to Jason? I've never seen him so out of control. He's had his moments of anger, but it was suppressed anger. And the only time he didn't seem calm was back when he....no way.
"Jason?"
Jason took a deep breath to calm himself, knowing his old friend would side with him despite the strain between them over the years. "Yes?"
"Wh-what was the name of the assassins that murdered y-your brother?"
"Gremory. As in, related to him."
Rosalyn took a step away from the new guy, moving closer to Jason in the process.
