Chapter one

[davion] stood up against the wall to himself at the alpha party watching his homie work the crowd. He noticed how everywhere Eddie went, eyes followed him and women flocked to him. Eddie floated through the club like he was the protagonist in a spike lee film and everything revolved around him. He was popular... not for any reason in particular, Eddie is just a likeable guy. He's funny, he's good looking and he's genuine, he's a good ass dude inside and out. People appreciate that.

Davion watched his friend until he disappeared somewhere near the bar. He'd lost sight of him because his eyes had found something new to focus on. His attention had been captured by a sight he'd dream about later.

The way the short sleeved kente printed button down clung, open, to his bare, tawny, moisturized, skin drew Davion's gaze. His defined abs shifted from left to right as his feet moved ever so gracefully across the scuffed tiled floor, stopping every so often to greet his friends. He'd share a hug or flash a bright smile accompanied by an airy chuckle that reached D's ears like music from across the way.

"I knew it." someone said into his ear with a light tap on his head, laughter following.

Davion didn't have to look to know that it was his dread headed friend that was now standing beside him. Their forearms brushed from how close Eddie was standing. Davion licked his lips before swallowing the last of the brown liquid in his plastic cup. His attention was stolen only for one second, but that was enough time to lose his muse in the sea of melanated twenty somethings drinking away their anxieties and dancing through their stress. His eyes searched the crowd until he finally gave up. He sucked his teeth, turning back to Eddie.

"Well shit. My bad if I messed up ya lil daydream."

The shorter of the duo ignored the goofy grin of his homie who not ten minutes ago told him that if he studies harder, he wouldn't keep getting failing grades. Davion rolled his eyes and walked away from his friend to find a trash can for his empty cup. His friend followed right behind him.

"Yo, If you don't feel like driving me home, I can just stay at your place? Just for tonight?" Eddie suggested, not wanting to be too much of a burden with his car being down at the moment.

"Yeah, man. That's fine." Davion waved him off, but he was still hot on his heels.

"What's up with you, D? You need another drink or something?"

"Hell yeah! But I'm driving." The stressed twenty one year old man reasoned with him self, because he absolutely needed another drink.

"Well, I'm ready whenever you are."

"Lemme hit the men's room and we can go."

Davion dragged his heavy limbs to the back of the club where the bathrooms were. He didn't actually have to piss, he just needed a moment. Today, which seemed like the longest day of his life, he got back his fourth failing grade assignment of the semester. He'd gone to every class, been alert and took good ass notes. He studied and everything, yet his mind wasn't processing anything at all. There was no way he'd matriculate this semester with his mind in the shithole state it's been in.

The warm wet paper towel on his face mixed with the buzz he had from the drinks attempted to ease the tension in his head, but the stress of it all held more weight. He rolled his eyes and let out an irritated sigh aimed at whoever was banging on the bathroom door.

"Aye, somebody in there?" The guy yelled while continually banging on the locked steel door.

"Occupied!"

He thought that he'd warded the stranger off, but then he heard the locked door handle being messed with aggressively. He opened it and the very same man he'd been eyeing all night flew through the entrance racing against the alcohol and hot wings erupting from his stomach. Davion backed away with his mouth upturned at the sounds and smells of the puking man, but somehow didn't feel the urge to exit. He stood there, door still being held open with his right hand, eyes glued to the gentleman bowing before the porcelain commode.

"You just going to stand there, man? Can you at least close the door?" The don snapped between heaving breaths.

Davion closed the door and leaned up against it, unsure. He watched the young man grab at his stomach, desperately. Damn. D's eyes travelled to parts of the man that were out of view when he was in the crowded room. His freckled cheeks and long eyelashes were now the main focus of his gaze.

Turning on the faucet, he ripped away a piece of paper towel from the dispenser and placed it under the lukewarm water.

"Here." He said simply, offering him a neatly folded wet paper towel to clean his mouth.

The lighter skinned man put his hand out for Davion to help him up.

His plump pinkish lips, ajar, angled perfectly underneath the faucet accepted the invasion of the hard pressured water like it belonged there. I must to be crazy. Davion thought to himself, because when is gargling water after upchucking sexy? Regardless, Davion watched, even more intrigued by the man now than he was before.

The stranger, as if on cue, turned off the faucet and rose to his actual height which was about two or three inches taller, same height as Eddie, Davion thought.

He had this masculine thing about him... shoulders... back.... straight.

Never slumping never round.

Had become the theme song Davion would hear when finally one on one with the stranger. He studied Davion's face and features before smiling, lowering his head, and wiping away the water that had been cascading down his chin from his lips. He chuckled.

"I'm Ron." He said in the smoothest voice. He licked the corner of his mouth which caused Davion's eyes to follow the quick motion while responding simply,

"Davion."

They made eye contact for the longest two seconds before Ron retrieved the folded paper towel from Davion's hand and exited the bathroom.

Davion followed shortly, standing up against the brick wall watching Ron ease his way back into the party as if nothing had ever happened. "Yo." He heard from a few people down. He saw Eddie waving to him. Suddenly he remembered that he was only supposed to be gone for a few minutes.

"Where the hell you been? I though you left me."

"I'm sure you would've found some girl to take you home if I did."

Davion unlocked the door to his one story two bedroom brick house. "You can sleep in the room or on the couch, I don't really care. But I'm going straight to bed so don't bother me, aight?"

"You got something to eat?"

"You know where the kitchen at, man. Help yourself to whatever."

Davion went to the bathroom and turned on the shower then headed back to his room to strip. He first stretched, raising his arms way up high, leaning backwards releasing a low moan. The button on his jeans was unfastened and the zipper was unzipped. With the top of his pants, came down the waistband of his briefs in an effort to take away one step of his undressing routine. Davion sat on his bed and began removing his shirt when he noticed Eddie was standing in the door way.

"What, man?" He asked, unbothered, continuing to remove his tee shirt so that now he sat completely naked in front of his friend. Davion didn't dare raise his eyes to meet Eddie's, but he could feel Ed's on him.

He walked over to the closet, bare and uncovered, to grab a clean towel and wrapped it around his waist, low enough to show his v line because he'd become aroused by the thought of having his friend's attention and wanted to keep it... if it was even captured in the first place. He walked past Eddie, into hallway. "You need something before I hop in the shower?"

"Nah."

Davion chuckled because Eddie is the kind of dude who values the difference between want and need a little bit too much. He rephrased his question.

"Well do you want something before I go in?" He finally looked in Eddies direction and found that he was indeed subtly eyeing his body. Davion tried his best to pretend he didn't notice.

"The stove ain't igniting."

"What are you trying to make?"

Eddie shrugged, "Just some noodles."

"I have a microwave for that, bruh."

"But radiation, though."

Davion rolled his eyes at his friend's consciousness and guided him into the kitchen to show him how to light a pilot on a gas stove. He ripped a piece of paper towel from the roll and used his translucent blue lighter to set fire to it. With one hand on his knee, he slightly stepped back from the stove, he felt the crotch of his buddy, for only a second, up against his ass. "My bad, I ain't know you was that close." Davion apologized for what he assumed was an accident. He adjusted his feet so he was now standing sideways instead of right before Ed. Turning the knob he placed the lit paper up against the eye until the ring caught fire.

"You rich kids don't know what it's like to work for your food." He mumbled, rushing to move his hand from the stove so he could put the lit paper towel into the sink before the flame reached his fingertips.

Paying the slick remark no mind, the taller looked down at D's rising member and back up his torso until his eyes met Davion's face. Davion just looked at him then put his hand out redirecting Eddies attention to the stove. "That's all you want right?" Eddie hesitantly shook his head leading Davion to believe there was something unspoken between them, but he brushed it off as his hormone induced imagination.

"Aight, you need anything else, just knock."
