The Shadow Wolf Menace unveils!
"Where Magick Comes To Die by C.L. LeMay on #Inkitt A work in progress, with only 2 chapters available on date of reviewing (not an agreed review swap, but I never do another review for those, who maltreat, or shun, my stories). I already commented on the text, so minor mistakes, like comma placement and lack thereof, will not be handled extensively herein. The Summary got me interested, the Prologue proved that the author delivers, but it is the following chapter, number 2 on Inkitt, which really proves me right: A masterpiece in the making, when beta-readers and critics help it to blossom. Detective Ash McPherson is in for the troublesome road, when a buddy demands a favor. A skeptic on occult affairs, the cryptic warning about a `wolf now free´ does not yet betray more of the story. But, helping to warn and protect someone is a legitimate request, and may even remind of male protector syndrome in the literature way (detective classics, since around 1930). The author may need some practice, and the gruesome and oft unpaid hours of using proofreading software (don't ask me, when even my short stories already devour hours, and ask even less about RELIABLE software), but the author also has a very fitting style AND a splendid story idea. While it may not become very innovative and genre reforming, I still believe that only the author's health and funding, or lack thereof, will decide, if this becomes what I call a masterpiece, or unfinished junk left behind. Kudos. Oh, and I repeat, kinda: `Take this, Shadow Wolf! I had my share of MMORPG, and so I know that you drop a debit card, some armor no wolf could hide, or carry, and several jewels, when I smack you dead!´"
Grabbed my attention
"So far, I am intrigued by both Maggie and Ash and what is going on with the suicide. Writing flows nicely and am glad there is actual dialogue. Sometimes I feel like authors just want to describe every single thing, but this one keeps the story going with actual conversations. Will keep reading to see where the story goes."
