George Weasley x Y/n Potter

Your eyes burned as you stuffed your clothes unceremoniously into your school trunk. You were thankful that Hermione and the other girls that you shared your dormitory had chosen to leave you alone otherwise you were sure that they would be on the receiving of your rather bitter mood.

Only two days ago you had returned from the Department of Mysteries, faced Voldemort himself and watched as your godfather fell beyond the veil. To say that you had been to hell and back was an understatement. Why the hell had Voldemort tricked you so easily?!

The lamp on your bed-side table smashed to the floor in your anger. Swearing loudly, you cleared away the mess with a flick of your wand before sitting down on your four-poster bed, running your fingers through your unruly messy hair.

He was dead. Sirius Black was truly gone. Never again would you get to laugh with him again. Sirius had been one of the last remaining links that clung to your parents. You had cherished all the times at Grimmauld Place where you spent your time talking to Sirius about James and Lily.

“Lily spent more time hating James during Hogwarts,” Sirius had grinned across at you while you were digging into your chicken pie that Molly Weasley had cooked so lovingly.

“Really?”

“Yep,” Sirius smirked as Remus cast a look in your direction, a small smile on his prematurely lined face.

“Y/n?”

You had to bit your tongue to prevent yourself from snapping at Hermione.

“Yeah?” you wiped away a few stray tears before turning to your bushy haired best friend who was looking rather anxious at the door to your dormitory.

“George is here… He’s in the Entrance Hall…”

Your heart lifted ever so slightly at the thought of George. You had been together since the Yule Ball and you hadn’t seen him since he and his twin brother, Fred, had left school after a rather impressive prank where they had set off a real swamp in one of the courtyards.

The thing about George Weasley was that he had a penchant for taking your mind off of things. Seeing him was exactly what you needed right now.

You could see his fiery red hair from five metres away as you reached the Entrance Hall. He was leaning against the oak front doors, looking as anxious as Hermione had been. It was strange to see George in Hogwarts, dressed in magenta robes (which he had told you in his letters was the uniform for Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes), as opposed to his usual second-hand robes and messy tie.

“Magenta isn’t really your colour George,” you whispered coyly as you approached your boyfriend, “Clashes with your hair too much.”

George turned sharply on the spot, immediately bringing you into his arms and embracing you so tightly that you very nearly forgotten how to breathe.

“I’ve missed you Y/n…”

You smiled, your heart beating fast as you wrapped your arms around his neck to bring him closer to you. You needed him more than ever right now.

“And magenta most definitely is my colour, thank you very much.”

You ignored his comment and gripped him tighter to you. The thoughts of Sirius drifted out of your head as you embraced you boyfriend. Your stomach lurched as one of George’s hands landed on your waist, the other ran itself through your hair.

“You okay, Y/n?”

You shook your head, your glasses were digging slightly into the bridge of your nose but you ignored this discomfort as you murmured, “No. I need you George.”

“You haven’t got any more lessons have you?” George asked quietly, the hand that had been running itself through your hair seconds ago was now rubbing itself up and down your back.

“No,” you mumbled against the crook of his neck.

“Come on then.”

“Where are we going?” you asked, as George released you from the warm embrace and instead entwining your hands together and stirring you out of the oak front doors and onto the sunny grounds. There was already a large number of students milling around on the grounds, enjoying the freedom from exams and the warm summer air. Many of the students smiled and waved at you as you and George passed them, you had to reframe from glaring at all of them. Now they believe you. You thought savagely. Now they decide to believe that Voldemort’s back.

Stupid bloody Daily Prophet.

“Where are we going George?” you asked him as he continued to walk past the groups of students.

“Somewhere these nosey buggers can’t hear us,” George replied, loud enough for those around you to hear his carrying voice.

You blushed, allowing George to drag you towards the Quidditch pitch. The Quidditch pitch was somewhere that George and yourself had spent a lot of time together during this year and last. It was somewhere you both could go when the common room was too crowded or when Madam Pince was being especially horrible in the library.

George sat down on one of the benches at the very top of the Gryffindor stands. He held his arms wide open for you and you wasted no time in collapsing into his arms.

“I miss him George.”

“I’d be surprised if you didn’t miss him Y/n,” George said as his lips brushed against your temple.

Silence fell for a few minutes. As George stroked your messy hair, you listened to the rhythmic sound of his heartbeat through his shirt. You didn’t know how or why but George had a certain persona about him that just made you forget about all the bad thoughts in your head. Just being around him made you feel better.

“I know what will cheer you up!”

“Huh?” you titled your head upwards to peer at your boyfriend as was almost instantly met with his lips descending upon your own. Despite having a year relationship under your belt, George’s kisses never failed to leave you breathless.

Your hands found their way into his fiery red hair and his arms encircled themselves around your waist to bring you closer and deepen the kiss.

“Feel any better?” George smirked, noticing your blushing face.

“Dunno,” you smiled, tracing his jaw delicately with your finger, “I believe another kiss would definitely cheer up my mood.”

“Anything for you Miss Potter,” George smiled happily before his lips once again met your own in a fiery kiss.

TopazHorizon: Okay, no sex here at all - I know all you werewolf romance fans love a good sex scene 😉 But it's still a good love story. Love for your own self, love for your skills, love for your community and beyond, and love for family, even when it's complicated. And I feel like I became smarter, too. All tho...
