Prologue - Purified

I awoke to a voice. It was calming, sweet and nostalgic. Sure, it wasn't my mama's voice, but it sure was close. I opened my eyes and saw a woman sitting and leaning over me. She had long, dark brown hair and hazel eyes. She was also wearing a suit of armor.

"Hey, sweetie, you okay?" she asked, reaching out her hand. I grabbed it and stood up.

"Yes, I am fine, thank you," I replied.

The woman smiled, and turned to a hooded figure kneeling behind her. "See, Shu? I told you the Dark Curse wouldn't be so bad!"

This 'Shu' person nodded. "Guess I should listen to you more often, Soul. Sorry..."

Wow, that guy's voice is pretty deep, I thought. Reminds me of Papa.

Soul giggled as she said, "Really, it's fine, I'm just glad that she's okay."

Shu removed his hood, revealing a mess of straight blue hair and light yellow eyes. "Should we take her to meet the others now?"

"Sure," Soul then turned back to me. "But before you meet them, I was wondering, what's your name?"

"Rasazy," I said, tracing my foot on the rocky ground.

"That's a cute name! As you know, I'm Soul Condor, and I'm a warrior. And this is Shuichi Saihara, the Great Sage."

"Please, just call me Shu. I've grown a bit...tired of all the formalities."

Wait, this is the Great Sage?? I never would have guessed.

"Anywaaaays..." Soul continued, "let's go see my friends, okay?" She grabbed my hand and ran towards a building with a sign that read "INN."

This is gonna be a long day...
