Shouldn't have seen that

Hi guys, I am Ana

this story is just something I wanted to write, nothing is real except locations obviously - this theme may have occurred in history though as everyone knows there were Mafia families (and still may be)

please no hate - if you have recommendations or requests please comment or message me. I might write a few chapters and see where it goes from there. I am sorry for any mistakes in languages, I do not speak French or Italian - I am using a translator. if you see any mistakes please feel free to comment.

I enjoy reading Mafia stories on Wattpad and that is kind of what pushed me to write my own - I hope you all like it.

please enjoy!

~Ana

My palms screamed at me as my nails dug into my thin skin, but I ignored their pleas as my eyes stared at the fat red face of my boss. My face remained smiling, almost happy as my insides screamed. “thank you Bella, good night.” His voice was gruff as he packed up his suitcase and continued to leave his office. I followed him out to my desk and watched him, imagining knives embedded in his back, only when the elevator doors shut did I finally relax and sink into my chair. “That bastard.” I whispered to myself. Making me work late, I just want to rest. I thought but immediately began with my work, I wanted to get home before it got too late.

I was almost finished with my work when my phone began to buzz frantically and my ringtone filled the otherwise silent room, I tapped the smooth screen of my phone and smiled as my best friends voice filled my ears.

“Bella!” Camille yelled through the phone

“Oui” (yes)

“j’ai été promu! viens faire la fête bébé” Camille continued to yell. (I got a promotion! come and party baby)

“laissez-moi juste finir un peu de travail” I replied. (just let me finish some work)

“oui petite amie, à bientôt” Camille yelled and a click signalled the end of the call. (yes girlfriend, see you soon)

I sighed and continued to complete my work.

-------------

The cold night air kissed my skin as I finally exited the tall building in which I worked. I was tired but Camille is my best friend and I wouldn’t miss a party, I will go but not stay too long. I breathed in the air of Paris and smiled at the bright beacon that was the heart and star of my city, the Eiffel tower, I began my long trek to my apartment. The click of my heels on the smooth path was the only sound, it was late evening and this street was quiet except for the occasional passing of a car. I pulled out my phone and texted Camille to let her know I was coming but just had to stop by home first. As I placed my phone back into my bag I pulled my jacket around my small figure to try and combat the cold that nipped at my skin, caressing my tired muscles, I was a block away from home. I slightly smiled to myself as the glow of the Eiffel tower illuminated the street and the sky above. my smile faded as voices and groans filled my ears and my attention was torn from the heart of my city to the dim alley beside me.

-----------

I flinched as my eyes focused in on 5 men surrounding a man who knelt before them. I stepped back, which I realised was a big mistake as two of the men standing turned their faces to me, I flinched as a loud shot filled the silence, I saw the man who was kneeling fall in a heap to the ground. lifeless. my throat was dried a lump forming there but I began to run, I ignore the shouts behind me and kicked off my heels, ditching them as I ran faster towards my building. I tore across a corner and ignored my aching chest as I pushed open the door to my apartment building and into the elevator, punching the buttons and collapsing onto the cold metallic floor of the now moving elevator, I sighed as it rose to the higher level of my building, and I rose shakily as the doors opened, and stepped out into an empty hallway, I fumbled with my keys but quickly opened my door and slammed it behind me. I didn’t dare turn on a light, my heart pounding in my chest, my hand instantly rose to my chest as the pain became excruciating. I sank to the floor, my back rested against my door, willing my breathing to calm. “baise moi” I whispered.

(fuck me)

PARIS IN THE DARK

Hester: Very good, was short too the point , not lingering on the abuse, pity you didn’t let him step in earlier knowing the abuse was happening, but this is almost real for some women who have gone through it, just wish they could all have a princess at te end of thete tunnel

Ashley: I enjoyed the story. It was a short one so the fast pace fit. I think something should be put in to show a time jump between paragraphs like a "****" just to make it easier to follow when we skip to the next day week or month. Over all a good read.
