Chapter 1
In a house, on the street of Small town, a unique family lived. Coraline, also known as Coraline Jones, lived in this house with her family there too. Coraline grew up to be a strong independent woman who found her own way. Her mother always said she grew up too fast to Aida, Coraline’s daughter who obviously took the genes from her.
Aida basically is the same person as Coraline. She’s got a unique style as well as a unique personality. Coraline’s curiosity shone right through Aida like a stained glass window on a summers day. She wants to explore everything which is a bit of a problem for Coraline. Ever since Aida was born, Coraline was protective over Aida’s exploring, especially when they visit her mother’s house. That was the house where the black-button evilness occurred, and the door is still there. She knows it’s over but there’s a chance the other mother is still out there.
Coraline never told Aida about what happened, just to keep her safe, because she knew that as soon as they open the door to her mother’s house, Aida will go straight to find that door, and try and go through it. However, Angus, Coraline’s husband, knew all about what happened.
Angus was a fun father. He always put Aida before him, He had a great job and he loved his family dearly. He liked to be dangerous but is alert for every kind of danger as well.
It was an autumn break and the Jones were getting ready to go visit Aida’s grandma’s house. Aida grabbed her toys, her clothes, and her yellow wellington boots. She also brought her stone with a hole in the middle that her mum gave her. She wasn’t quite sure what it was, but she liked it anyway. She put it all in her brown suitcase and sat on it to make it zip up.
“Aida are you nearly ready we are leaving in ten minutes!” Coraline shouted up the stairs.
“Yes, just going to get my book!” Aida replied with an excited tone in her voice. “ I’m so excited, there will be so many things to explore, so many things to see!”
Coraline smiled with a frightened face.
“We’re leaving now Aida, Are you ready for this wonderful trip of joy?” Aida’s father said enthusiastically.
Aida jumped down the last three bottom stairs with one (not so elegant) leap.
