Not the best short story I've ever read
"The plot didn't really feel fully fleshed out to me. I know that this is a short story, but it felt like a montage of events with no transitioning scenes. I don't feel connected to the characters, and it makes me feel like I have to understand them through cliches like 'tired, 'relatable' coffee-loving female protagist.' Some more time could be spent developing the characters so we actually understand their goals and motives (perhaps in a nutshell, since this is a short story). The writing style is rather punchy, and like I said, a montage. It jumps from one scene to another with very little breathing room. This isn't exactly the best for scenes that are supposed to have tension, so I would recommend not cutting off the circulation of scenes to make the length of the story as short as possible. There are more than a few spelling and grammar mistakes that kinda ruin it for me, but Ashley's technical writing skills are overall pretty decent. So, yeah. That's my review."
