Summary

Suddenly Cheyenne finds herself homeless at seventeen with no plans for the future. If life hasn't been hard enough she ends up at The Dove Ranch where her life is about to change once again. "Shit with your Mom?" He continues. "That's just the tip of it.” I say swiping at my face. I’m getting that tingle in my nose that tells me I’m about to cry. I’ve never had a guy interested in my personal life before. “Actually that's the start of it all.” Now the tears were no longer threatening to over flow they were overflowing. “Everything else I'll eventually get over." I look trying to hide the fact that I was crying. "Do you want to talk about it?" He asks so kindly. Did I really want to talk about this with him? But how could I resist when he was taking the time to listen. No guy had ever done that for me. "My Mom kicked me out for good just as school ended in June.” I paused. “But not because I was a problem child or anything just that I was too much of a constant reminder of her past.” “What do you mean?” “Well before Grandpa Jones got sick our lives were pretty normal. At least I thought they were.” “Anyways I spent a lot of time with my Grandpa and he spent a lot of time with us. We were one big family back then.” “Anyway Grandpa Jones got sick and it hit my Mom really hard.” I took a deep breath. "My Mom turned to drinking. She basically gave up on life..."
