- Local Park, 12 years ago -

There was a small boy sat in the middle of the park. His mother was sat on the bench nearby feeding the ducks in the pond next to her, keeping an eye on her son. The mentioned son was sat in the middle of the park with all of the flowers watching all of the insects fly from one colourful plant to the other.

The wind was blowing through his hair making it ruffle ever so slightly. He couldn’t see it but all of the mothers and fathers saw him and his sweet smile and instantly smiled at the sweet looking child. That included another child that was shy to go up and introduce himself to the sitting boy. So the shy boy stayed still, gripping his mothers hand, looking at the smiling child.

He tugged on his mothers hand and pointed to the child wanting his mother to come with him to say hello. She just smiled down at him before she let go of his hand and gently nudged him forward, trying to get him to go by himself. His eyes started to show panic until his mother’s smile enlarged and she nudged him forward again. He took his mothers smile as a sign and slowly edged his way towards the other child.

He eventually got to the buys side to see he was smiling at a small butterfly that had managed to land on his hand. A small giggle was released from the happy boy, and not meaning to the shy one let out a giggle as well.

Startled the small boy quickly turned around and shuffled backwards a bit, scaring the butterfly away making him frown as he twisted his head to watch it leave. A small frown now painting his face.

A wave of guilt hit the other young boy as he sat down and bowed his head as an apology. While his head was bowed a small hand made its way into his field of view and he looked up surprised to see the small boy smiling at him.

β€œHi, my name is Taehyung”, the smaller boy exclaimed while raising a hand towards the other, β€œWhat’s your name?”

The child that he was speaking to him just looked at him silently, his nerves just not allowing him to speak, but Taehyung didn’t seem to take it personally when he let out a little giggle and grabbed the others hand. He pulled the shy one forward and made it so they were both sat down looking at the flowers.

There were butterflies and bees flying from one flower to another, living their lives the way that they wanted. Their routine of going from pollen to pollen to survive making the scene even more beautiful for Taehyung who loved to watch these interesting insects.

The shy boy who was yet to speak his name just looked at the creatures and then back to Taehyung over and over again as if he was confused about the boys fascination. He saw Taehyung smile wider whenever one of them would fly closer to him. It caused a small smile to develop on his own face. Taehyung suddenly looked over at him, as if sensing the boys joy, and gave a little giggle before looking back at the creatures and sticking his small hand up to try and get one of them to land on it.

Jungkook looked back at the flower patch. He didn’t find what could interest Taehyung so much. To him it was just some insects flying around some colourful flowers, but somehow the way that Taehyung looked at them made them seem so much more interesting.

β€œJungkook. Jeon Jungkook”

Taehyung whipped his head round to face him, a wide box smile plastered on his face. There was so much pure joy in his face that Jungkook couldn’t help but giggle, causing Taehyung to also giggle. The two boys were in their own world until Jungkook felt something land on his hand. Turning his head he saw that there was a bright blue butterfly sat there. Taehyung let out an audible gasp and slowly leaned his head closer to Jungkook’s hand, his eyes sparkling with his childish glee.

Jungkook looked at Taehyung when the butterfly had enough and flew off. Taehyung had stood up, brushing all of the grass off of his shorts before holding a hand out to help Jungkook up. The two boys just stood there holding hands before their mothers realised that they were done looking at the flowers and called them their separate ways.

Taehyung let go of Jungkook’s hand and jogged away, giving him a big boxy smile and a wave as he went. And from then on Taehyung became Jungkook’s butterfly boy.
