Prologue
Rose sat in the rocking chair, rocking baby Mia. She thought about how fascinating it was to watch her little sister grow with magical abilities. Now she gets to watch her niece and nephew grow up the same. Her older sister, Petunia, didn’t think so. She thought Lily was always a freak for being able to do magic. Rose always thought it was jealousy because mum and dad thought Lily was unique.
A loud thud brought Rose out of her thoughts. She went down, holding baby Mia in her arms protectively. Cautiously she went around and saw James on the floor. her blood rushing to her ears, Rose didn’t know what to do.
Lily yanked Rose’s shoulder. “Go! Run!” she said out of breath, as if she’s been running for hours.
“What? Lily what happened?” Rose asked, freaking out as another lamp exploded
“Take Mia, I’ll get Harry. Get out of here right now,” and as the dining table collapsed on the floor, Rose made a run for it, holding Mia in her arms firmly but not too tight. With the help of a portkey, she got out of Godric’s Hollow and was transported to the front of a small supermarket. Rose checked into a nearby motel and stayed the night.

The following day she took the portkey, back home. But the house was empty. There was nothing, except for two bodies lying on the ground. One of her sister’s and the other, her sister’s husband.
Rose fell to the ground, struggling to breathe. Placing Mia in the dismantled crib, she looked around the house to see if Harry was anywhere to be found. But she couldn’t find him. They were dead. Lily and James were dead. And Harry was taken.
She felt a hand reach for her shoulder and immediately whipped around to see Albus Dumbledore kneel down with her. “Dumbledore, I can’t-can’t” She struggled to get her words out, “I can’t find Harry.”
“Harry Potter is safe.” Dumbledore said as calmly as possible.
“What?” Rose asked in confusion.
“Harry has been taken to your eldest sister’s house.” He said. Rose opened her mouth to protest, her sister? She could never take care of Harry, she can’t even take care of her own kid. But all that came out of her mouth was “oh”
“You must take Mia far away. Let her grow up and be normal. And when you both are ready. Come back and reunite her with her brother.”
