Insanity

Summary

Steely gray eyes stared blankly at me. Sighing internerly at the stubbornness, I calmly spoke. “What makes you think you are insane?” Quite a ridiculous thing to ask someone, I agree, but given the circumstances, I have to play my roles a bit differently. A blank stare, that is all I received. Silence is beautiful, a mahogany of calmness and peace, yet this isn’t the place for the silence to prevail. Leaning back against my plush chair, a lazy smirk danced across my lips. “I suppose you have no answer then?” Without missing a beat, I continued, “Perhaps, you have mistaken delusionalism for insanity.” “Shut up!” My smirk transformed into an arrogant grin. Who knew, two words, six letters, would give me the satisfaction of millenia.

Epilogue

Pain is a fickle thing. I have witnessed it, destroying people and wielding people into warriors.

Surviving through isn’t something easy to achieve, but that is the beauty of pain.

No matter how hard it makes one fall, it certainly opens new doors to self-improvement and betterment. Of course, it is easy to say the words rather than experience them. No one can comprehend how bad it is for someone experiencing it, and I mean it.

Therefore, all we can do is be a support to them. It is better to say, ‘I am here, if you need.’ then, ‘Stay positive, everything will be alright.’

Why? Because one will never know how hard it is for someone to stay positive when everything is falling apart. We don’t know if things will be alright tomorrow. We never do.

Hence, if we wish to, all we can do is lend a pair of shoulders.

Morbid, but, in the words of Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy, “It has been said, ‘time heals all wounds.’ I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone.”
