Forever With You - Book 2

Summary

“Madelyn.” Tristan’s voice was soft, as if he was trying to calm me down. “Come home.” “Do you trust me enough to fight?” I asked. He sighed and shook his head. “No.” I made eye contact with him. “Then I have nothing to come home too.” And just like that, I ran off, following the so called enemy.

Chapter 1 : thoughts

I sat at the desk in my room. My hands fiddling with the pencil that I found. I was supposed to be deciding what I wanted to do after after high school. Though ironically, I wouldn’t really be growing up. Not yet anyway.

It’s been months since Tristan and I decided that he was going to change me. But we also made a deal. He was only changing me after graduation. Now, the ending of the year is finally here, and every time I realized it was getting closer, my hands started shaking.

I didn’t know why I reacted the way I did. Tristan changing me was what I wanted, and he was willing to give it to me. Forever was what I wanted, forever with him. And I knew he felt the exact same way for me. I wished that he would’ve changed me right then and there on the front porch, but he didn’t give in that was easily. Tristan never did. He always needed time to think.

————————

“If only Chris was here to see we got a good grade on our project.” I laughed as Tristan and I walked out the school. It was the last week of school, and no show of Chris. I was worried sick about him. He was my best friend, and I just wanted to see him. At least once. To know he’s okay.

Tristan smiled sadly. “I’m sure he’s okay, Madelyn.”

I nodded. “I hope so, but who knows what Bryan’s bite does.”

“It’s painful, I’ll give it that.” Tristan said. “And it leaves a pretty nasty scar too.”

I scoffed. “Yeah I bet.”

Then his words sunk in. It leaves a pretty nasty scar too.

“How did you know that?” I asked.

Tristan pulled the collar of his shirt down, revealing a bite mark on his collarbone. My eyes widened at it. It was completely healed, but the mark was dark purple, like a bruise.

“He bit me, too.” He said.

I never even realized that he had that. It was always covered by his shirts.

“How come you never told me?”

“It wasn’t that important.” He shrugged.

“It’s pretty important to me.” I said.

Tristan stopped in front of me, placing his hands on my cheeks.

“I’m fine. Okay?” He said, his eyes turning a mixture of blue and green. I loved when his eyes changed colors. I was trying to learn what each one meant. It was fascinating trying to understand.

“It doesn’t hurt anymore.” He said, his lips forming a smile. “It’s just a mark.”

I nodded. “Okay.” I whispered the word but I knew he heard me.

We began walking to his car. Tyler got tired of third wheeling all the time so he started taking his own car to and from the school. Tyler was beyond excited when we told him that Tristan would change me.

“Finally! Someone fun to be with!” He had exclaimed. I couldn’t help myself but to smile at him. Tyler and I had a strange understanding between us. I didn’t know what, but we did.

I didn’t even realize we had pulled up to my house when Tristan said my name.

“Are you okay?” He asked. “You’ve been off today.”

I nodded. “Thoughts are consuming me.”

“Do you want me to come over tonight?” He asked.

I slowly smiled and nodded. “Yes.”

He smiled back at me.

“Just don’t pop out of no where.” I said, laughing.

He rolled his eyes. “It’s what I do.”

I left the car and watched as he drove away. A smile still on my lips.

Dad kept a careful eye on me, especially since he found out I had a boyfriend. Of course, we kept the secret from him. I couldn’t risk my father’s life, and plus, if I told him, he would think I’ve gone insane. I didn’t need that added on to my plate of stress. I made sure to grab something to eat before heading to my room. It was hard to focus on most things now. Chris is gone. Bryan is somewhere, probably wanting some type of revenge. Tristan was going to change me. And Tyler… well, nothing was really going on with Tyler. And yet, it was all still difficult to process. I hoped for the fact that after I would graduate, things would get a bit easier. I would have more free time, but it would mean more time thinking, and worrying. But more time with Tristan, nonetheless.
