aug: day one - ancient gods
“Oh, no,” Cadence cried, picking up her dress to scurry over to the wilting flowers. She cradles it in the palm of her hands and begins singing a hymn, running her thumb soothingly over the petals. The petals rejuvenate to a brighter hue, the kiss of the sun shining through the trees as to say, “it’s alright, no longer shall you wither.”
Cadence spun her finger around the bundle of flowers, the white and purple hues becoming more vivid as they came to life once more. Cadence sighed, smiling at the sight of the once muted flowers back to life. She kissed the petals and softly gazed at them.
“Hello, my love,” Cadence feels arms wrap around her. Warmth embraces her back, a nose making way behind her ear through her pale colored hair.
“Hello, Remi,” Cadence grinned, turning to make eye contact. “How are you?”
“Well, I’m doing lovely now that I’ve seen you,” Remi planted a kiss on her hair. “Spring this year is lovely, darling.”
Cadence chuckled with a grin, relaxing into the warm embrace. “It’s because I’m happy,” she hummed.
“Why are you happy?”
“Well,” Cadence fake pondered. “I have a beautiful girlfriend wrapped around my waist, sitting in a field of flowers alive with the sun with the warmth hitting my cheeks. Wouldn’t you be happy?”
Remi giggled, leaning back with her shoulders dancing. “Why of course. I see trees in bloom swaying in the wind and my the lady of my dreams sitting amongst beautiful colors.”
“I knew you’d understand,” Cadence smiled, turning her back to tackle her into a hug. Remi’s back hit the plain of grass with a smiling Cadence above her. “Oh, how I love you.”
Remi planted a kiss on her cheek with a smile. “I love you dearest as well, my love.”
