Chapter 1

Both of the girls along with the huge crowd stood under the torturous, volcano sun which was draining the life out of the exhausted yet worried one , Song Hazel, and the other one was excited smiling eye to eye holding flowers in her hand, Mae Brielle.

“Did something bad happened? My lord and the others aren’t coming..” hazel said worriedly frowning and looking over. “It’s not like he went on a war,Haz. He went to meet with the Kim’s.” Brielle said assuringly but it still bothered Hazel.

The Kim's were cruel although they had been silent for years now. But they were almost illegally clever. She had only heard stories about the people of Daegu province and the king Kim Kitae, the cruelest king on the history to ever exist.

“There they are!” The crowed cheered as Hazel instantly broke out in a smile looking at the men all safe and sound, and there she saw the person which made her heart relief and a sigh left her mouth. It was Jeon Jungkook. King Jeon Jungkook.

The crowd cheered loudly as the King came back all safe. He was on inside the lavish carriage.

“I wonder how it went there..” hazel whispered “I’m sure it went well why are you always so worried? Cheer up haz.” Brielle said nudging her by the elbow.

“My Lord, Kim Taehyung has a much bad reputation than his father does. Is it really safe to him over here? He is a cunning man.” There was a committee meeting held where all the politicians were sitting down and talking regarding today.

“Yes, my lord. As you know, he has been growing up in Japan and has been trained there. He ruled Japan. He only came back to seek revenge. He came back for his sick father. We wants war.” The King sat upon his throne as all of the politicians remained silent. Until one voice spoke.

“Who wants war? Did he ever say that? Or are you and your comrades just assuming? Assumption has no place in this conversation. My lord, I think we shouldn’t be judging Kim Taehyung on the first meet. We shouldn’t back down. We wouldn’t want to look like a bunch of cowards.” Said the criminal law group as the state group stared at them in disgrace.

The criminal law group was the most evilest in this province. They were clever and had a sharp tongue, eyes of an eagle and and a very much active ear.

Any wrong move, and they will drag it to hell. But Jungkook knew just how to handle those folks. He has been in this position for 10 years.

He has been ruling this kingdom and won in wars.

“We have a history with the Kim’s, yes. His father is now sick in the bed because of the war that happened 7 years ago. They approached us for peace willingly. We can’t possibly turn it down. It will cause misconceptions and chaos. We don’t have to greet them, but I want to greet them. I want peace between the both parties. I will try to make it happen since it’s this one chance for it. They are extending their hand for us.”

Jeon jungkook said with much authority in his voice looking at each and everyone’s face to get them to know that he is determined of his decision.

“Lord, you do know it’s written in the fortune telling book, the king after Kim Kitae will cause the black parade. He will take your bride away, he will take our queen away.” Jungkook’s expression immediately changed into a dark one. “Yes, my lord. Kim Kitae’s blood runs through Kim Taehyung’s veins. He is known to be more cruel than his father. He has Japan under his palms. Everyone there is his slave there.”

Jungkook let out a dark chuckle upon hearing them confusing everyone in the room.

“He will never take my bride away. He can never. I will not let him. It’s about the time I turn the pages to life and do the opposite of what the book says.” Jungkook uttered “The book’s never been wrong, my lord.” The leader of the criminal law group said with a visible smirk on his face as his eyes slowly met with the King’s one.

“Kim Taehyung will abuse her, rape her, manipulate her , marry her and make her pregnant with his child. You will be executed in the war. The Busan province will die down. Kim Taehyung will rule again. He will rule the whole Korea.” The man said as his smirk grew bigger. “That is what the book has predicted so fa-“

“Are you doubting my abilities Han? How dare you speak to me like that? Am I the King or are you?” The man named Han looked down “My apolo-“ “Don’t talk filthy about my future bride, your queen. No one has the right to touch her but me. How dare you even utter such nonsense about not only me dying but also my bride getting tortured by some other man.”

Jungkook’s voice raised in anger. He rarely ever shouted at anyone. “Don’t you dare disrespect me Han. Just because I let you off the hook doesn’t mean I will bear your utter nonsense. Don’t forget I’m the King that you’re talking to. Mind your tongue from the next time, please.” Jungkook said finally standing from his throne.

“You all are dismissed.” Jungkook announced before going out of the room and giving one last glare to Han who seemed to show no remorse.

“Han has been recklessly disrespectful these days. I’ll give him an earful-“ his advisor, Song Haechan was stooped as Jungkook raised his hand. “No need. They will only exaggerate this matter. His words means nothing to me.”

They walked out of the palace standing outside and Jungkook stopped. “I wish to be left alone. You can go back. I will be back soon.” He told his advisor as he quickly nodded and bowed.

The place where he went too wasn’t too much at a distance. But it took 20 minutes to get there.

And as he expected, she was there, feeding the kittens as a beautiful lily was placed by her ear making her look like an angel. Her cream white dress hugged her upper body’s curve perfectly as the bottom was flared in a long skirt which reached till her ankles.

Jungkook took off his royal mantle bending down and carefully setting it upon her shoulders as she flinched by the sudden contact but was quickly about to fall down because of the heavy material until Jungkook held her by her upper arm chuckling.

As powerful as he was, he made the girl stand on her feet as he took away the heavy mantle from her. “My apologies, birdie.”

She quickly turned around hearing none other Jungkook’s voice. “My Lord..” her eyes quickly widened. She didn’t know what to do so she bowed down.

“No need to bow, please. I thought it was cold and you are wearing nothing but this thin piece of cloth, I thought to cover you up with my mantle. I didn’t know it would be so heavy for you. Are you okay, birdie?”

The man said softly with a nice smile on his face. He was the complete opposite person than he was back in the throne room.

Hazel couldn’t help but blush at the nickname once again even though he has been calling her this since she was a kid. “I’m okay, thank you. You don’t have to give me anything. I-I’m not that cold..” she said but suddenly shivered as the cold wind blew against her skin and her nose was getting red because of the cold temperature.

“Birdie...” Jungkook looked at her with a frown and a sigh left his mouth. He looked at her in disbelief. “Why have you not wear or carry a sweater? Do you wish to stay in bed and cough all day?” Hazel shrugged turning away again and focusing on the puppies.

“Are you here to scold me, lord?” She spoke in a low voice as she kept petting the kittens. He squatted beside her as he too kept staring at those kittens.

She looked at him confusingly not sure about what he really wants. “I’m not. I’m not here to scold you. But you have to be healthy. Or else who will rule the kingdom when I get old?” He said staring at her like a lovesick man. “Don’t talk rubbish, master. I can never rule the kingdom. Why will I?” She said shaking her head in amusement.

“I don’t talk rubbish, Serena.” “Who’s Serena?” She turned to face him. “A little human being. She hasn’t been born yet. Perhaps in the future.” “Are you high?”

Both of them giggled quietly feeling the chilly breeze. “Do you like the name Serena for a girl and Izek for a boy?” He looked at her with nothing but love in his eyes. “I suppose. Why do you ask?” “Just because.” He shrugged looking back at the kittens and petting it too.

“Come on it’s getting colder and you are wearing nothing but this thin piece of cloth which is absolutely not doing it’s job in warming you up. Up, up.” Jungkook stood up grabbing her hand.

“B-But.. I don’t want to leave. These kittens..” she said whining. “Do you want to bring them with you?” “Mother won’t allow.” She replied sluggishly. “I’ll send someone to bring them over to my palace, okay? You play with them there, hm?” Hazel’s face immediately lit up as she nodded like a little kid earning a lovable chuckle from Jungkook.

“Let’s go now then. And next time wear a warm cloth on top. You get me?” “Yes.” “Let’s go then. It’s getting darker and colder.” And off they went back to the palace.
