Summary

Scar or Scarlett is a girl from good ole New York. Often found painting murals on the beautifully trashed streets and working as a lifeguard at the local pool. That is until her 16th birthday when her mother decided to allow her to move to Florida with her aunt Alice. With the sudden change of scenery, she starts to feel like she’s fallen behind and lost touch with herself. She’s finally given a chance to show herself that she will find someone to cherish, as she’s had a rough past with boyfriends. But as we all know, to love someone else, we have to love ourselves first.

Prologue

“Where do you think you are going, Ryan? We have a family! Or did you forget that?" "God damn it, Delilah! You knew this was going to happen. Why do you seem so shocked? I mean you cannot act like you didn’t see the emails. Honestly, I mean you should blame yourself. you didn't do anything to stop it." He set his bags down into the trunk of his car and walks around to the driver side. "Sorry about the wait hun, we're leaving now." He says to the woman in the front seat. "Well, what about Scarlett? Is she just going to grow up without a father?" Delilah points to the little girl inside peeking through the windows, silently listening to the whole affair. "Look she's only five, she'll forget me soon enough, and besides I'm sure one of your 'friends' wouldn't mind coddling her long enough for her to leave the house, I mean seriously this is pathetic Dee, using your kids to try and guilt me." Shaking his head, he opens the car door and peels away leaving his pregnant girlfriend and daughter penniless and alone. Delilah i know walks inside seconds after he leaves and quickly brushes past her daughter to the kitchen, as she starts pouring herself a drink she suddenly pauses turning to her daughter. "You know what scar, maybe we'll be better off without him." She walks up to her daughter and hugs her. Holding her daughter close as she sobs, shedding the tears from the years of mental and physical strain he had caused them both
