Chapter 1

Anabelle's POV

I sighed at the piling college work in front of me. It looks like school, just a different building and a different dorm. Tons of assignments which have only few days of submission left. I pick one, the economics one, which looks the smallest and the easiest.

I am halfway through it, the door of my dorm clicks open and I see my roommate, Sophia come inside. She is a beautiful girl, with brown hair till her waist similar to the colour of her eyes. She has porcelain skin, in contrast to her hair.

I am her complete opposite. With tan skin and platinum blonde wavy hair, standing at 5'5" while Sophia is taller than me. Well, most girls in our college are.

"Hey Bells. What's up?"

"Nothing much. Just completing assignments. How was your work?"

She works at a firm as an assistant manager. While I work as a waitress in Cafe called Coffee Talk, the pay is definitely less than her but I get enough to sustain myself.

"Same as everyday. You know, Ethan's party is this weekend. Wanna come? I got an primary invitation." Her voice sounds excited.

Ethan St. Cooper is a wealthy boy and has all the looks a girl could imagine. So, there will definitely be many girls swooning at him, because he is also the captain of the basketball team, many many people must be invited.

Most people in our college throw parties either to make new friends, or to get attention. And fortunately, I'm none of those things.

"Nope. I will not be coming, Sophie. It's just another party for me, that's all."

"Girl, when will you enjoy yourself? You burn yourself out at studies and work. What's wrong with having some fun? Maybe you'll get laid." She adds with a wink.

My introvert nature doesn't sit well with parties. And some incidents embedded in my heart don't let me go to parties either. So, definitely not going.

"No, Sophie. You know I don't like them."

After she convincing me for about an hour, I finally agreed to go with her, she promised me that we'll return soon.

Days rolled on and I had the same routine, just with different days. Usually I had longer shifts on weekends, but the owner of the cafe, John is a sweet man in his early forties. I promised him to make the shifts for the rest of the two days, and he allowed me.

"Have some fun, dear. Enjoy yourself." He didn't even look in his forties, but he is one of those men I can trust with all my heart. He treats all his employees equally, and treats me like his own daughter.

I reached my dorm to see Sophia getting ready. "Everything is ready Belle. Just wear everything, we're leaving in 15 minutes. I don't wanna go late."

Within twenty minutes, I was ready. Sophia selected an off shoulder black dress, with ended right above my knees. My makeup was done with perfection, I applied my makeup skills after so long and straightened my hair. Overall, I looked downright gorgeous.

Sophia also looked really pretty with an white sequin dress paired with heels. We looked good to go.

In fifteen minutes, Sophia parked her car in an driveway. The house had party lights on, and the place was blaring with music.

This is it. Maybe this party could change my perspective forever.
