****Ray's POV****
The plane finally lands, causing me to glance out the window. It's been at least 10 years since I've been to Outer Banks, but this time I'm not here willingly. My parents sent me away, because I've been being too "disobedient" for their liking. So now my aunt has to put up with me. Yayyyy.
I tug my two heavy suitcases behind me as I push through the airport and make it towards the entrance of the airport. I then spot my name Rachel Baldwin plastered on a white poster card. My eyes roll as I forcefully drag myself over to the chauffeur.
'Sorry but I'm looking for Rachel Baldwin, not a Pogue.' He spat bitterly. Great these people are still doing this Pogue vs Kook shit. What a bunch of assholes.
'I am Rachel Baldwin and my aunt sent you to pick me up. Now if you want me to call her and disturb her from whatever work she's doing, I'll gladly do it and get your ass fired.' I smile sweetly, causing the mans face to drop and nod quickly.
'Y-Yes ma'am. I'll take your bags.' He takes my suitcases and leads me out of the airport and over to a white limo. I get into the limon as he throws my suitcases in the trunk and begins driving me.
We pass through the "poor" side of town, before we make it to the snobby side of town. It doesn't take long before he pulls into the circular driveway.
'Home sweet home...' I mutter under my breath as I get out of the car, hitting the chauffeur with the door by accident. Didn't know he was going to open the door for me, but whatever.
'Ray!' My aunt smiles at me and runs over, scooping me into a tight hug.
'Hey Auntie Sam.' I mutter through the hug, pulling away before I lose air. Good thing she remember that I hate my birth given name. Rachel is too girly girl for me, which is why I prefer to be called Ray. It's more of a tomboy name, which describes me perfectly.
'Come in. Come in.' She ushers as I take my suitcases from the guy and follow her into her house-correction mansion. A huge chandelier was dangling over the ceiling right in the middle. The grand staircase was doing a loop around the chandelier. A man and a boy who looks around my age walk over to us.
'Boys this is my niece Ray. Ray this is my husband Ed and his 17 year old son Kelce.' Kelce and I shake hands as Ed and I share a small nod.
'Kelce show Ray to her room while your father and I share some business.' Kelce nods and grabs my suitcases before tumbling upstairs. I unwillingly follow behind him, before we finally make it into one of the guest rooms I'm guessing.
It was small, with white interior. Some pictures of surfboards, beaches, and family photos were on the wall. A desk and a wardrobe was placed in separate corners as a door leads into the bathroom.
'This is it. My room is just next door and we share a bathroom, so just lock the other side of the door when your in the bathroom. And-'
'Do you have an surfboards?' I ask, cutting him off which takes him by surprise but he replaces the surprised look with a smile.
'Yeah. Grace (my aunt's name) has two in the front garage.' I nod and smile.
'Ok thanks. You can leave now.'
'Oh right yeah. Um there's also some old blue jeep in the garage. No one in the house knows how to drive stick so I guess it's yours for the summer.' He then leaves.
I throw my suitcases on the bed, before swinging them open. I replace my clothes with a dark blue bikini. I slide on some white shorts and a random flannel. I slip on my white high top converses and through my long blonde hair into a high ponytail.
I make my way out of "my room" and skip downstairs, walking right past everyone and going straight into the garage. I pull up the garage door, letting the sun and light in. I grab a light blue and white surfboard, putting it into the back seat of the jeep.
The jeep was the ones that basically had no windows and no roof. If that even makes sense. I grab the car keys, but when I turn around I'm met with two boys.
'Hey is Kelce home?' The taller one asks as he looks me up and down.
'Yeah. He's inside with my aunt and his dad.'
'Oh! You must be the niece that's staying for the summer.' The second boy says, sending me a creepy smile. 'I'm Rafe and this is Topper. We're friends of Kelce.' I slowly nod, not really caring about a thing he was saying.
'Ok...well I'm heading to the beach. So see you around I guess.' I satte quickly, wanting this conversation to be over with already.
'See you around and be careful with those Pogues.'
'Yeah. You don't want to be caught in the wrong crowd.'
They both state before walking into the house. My eyes roll as I hop into the jeep, putting the keys into the ignition. I back out of the garage, before driving down the driveway and then down the street. I barely surfed back home in California, always too busy ignoring my parents. This summer is the perfect time to go surfing again.
I park on the side of the road, before getting out of the car. Driving stick isn't that hard. It literally just took me 2 minutes to learn. They're just lazy.
I kick off my shoes, before taking my shorts and flannel off. I throw them into the backseat and grab my surfboard.
I run onto the sand as I take my hair out of the ponytail and make contact with the waves. I jump onto my surfboard and begin paddling over to a soon to come big wave. As soon as it hits, I stand up and do a 36o around it before doing other tricks with other big waves.
****Kie's POV****
I watch the girl surfing in amazement as I stop at the food stand. Who is that and how did she learn to surf like that?
'Yo Kie. Wassup girl!' JJ calls as he appears next to me, going in for a kiss but I push him back.
'Do you know her?" I ask as I pay for a soft pretzel and begin walking towards the water.
'Who?' JJ asks, following close behind me.
'Her.' I state simply, pointing towards the water. JJ stares at the blonde haired girl as she surfs one more waves before getting out of the water. I take this as my opportunity to go and talk to her. I grip JJ's wrist and drag her over to me.
'Hey!' She turns to me. Her bright blue eyes, meeting my dark brown ones.
'Hey.'
'I'm Kiara but you can call me Kie and this is JJ. Are you new here?'
'Yep. Staying at my aunt's for the summer, unfortunately.' She states, rolling her eyes.
'What is she a kook or something?' JJ asks, jokingly and she nods.
'Yeah actually.' Both JJ and mines face drops and the girl quickly speaks again.
'Oh no! No. I'm not like them, in my opinion all this Pogue vs Kook bullshit is actually annoying. Can't believe they're still doing this 10 years later...I'm Ray by the way.' She states quickly, causing JJ to chuckle in amusement and me to smile in admiration.
'John B would love her.'
'John B? Whose that?' Ray asks, directing the question to JJ who just smiles.
'He's one of our friends who you should meet. Hey, Kie's a rich kid too maybe you can bring her over later tonight.' JJ suggests, causing Kie to nod.
'That wouldn't be so bad. Let's exchange numbers and I'll send you the details.'
