Chapter 1
Nick stood there looking at his wife, Hayley. She just told him she was pregnant with their first child. He looked at her and turned and went out the door. Hayley stood there in shock. She sat down and took a deep breath. The phone rang.
“Hello,” Hayley said.
“Hey girl, did you tell him about the baby?” Leighanne asked.
“Yeah,” Hayley said.
“What happened,” Leighanne said.
“He walked out,” Hayley said.
“What!” Leighanne said.
“I told him and he walked out,” Hayley said.
“Oh great,” Leighanne said.
“I thought he would be happy, to have a family, he said he wanted kids, well, I’m having his child and he walks out, what is wrong with him,” Hayley said.
“I don’t know, Brian just went to find him,” Leighanne said.
“I don’t know what to do,” Hayley said.
“Just talk to him, see what’s wrong,” Leighanne said.
“If he comes home, I’ll talk to you later,” Hayley said. She hung up and sat back. The front door opened and closed and Nick came in. She looked at him. He came in and sat down.
“Baby, I’m sorry, for walking out like that, I do want this baby and I do want to be a family,” Nick said. He stroked her cheek.
“I didn’t know what to think when you walked out,” Hayley said.
“I will make it up to you, baby, I want to be a family, I want to be a father, more than anything in the world, I love you so much and I will definitely love our baby, a life created by you and me,” Nick said. Hayley moved and straddled his lap and kissed him deeply.
“In five months, we will be parents, we will have a family, our little boy or girl will be here and we will have the family we wanted,” Hayley said.
“I hope we have more than one child,” Nick said.
“Oh we will, this is just the beginning,” Hayley said. Nick kissed her deeply. They sat there holding each other.
Five months later, Hayley was in the hospital giving birth to their baby. Nick never left her side. Soon Hayley was in a private room holding her and Nick’s baby girl.
“Our little princess,” Hayley said.
“She is beautiful, just like you,” Nick said kissing his daughter’s forehead. He kissed Hayley’s forehead.
“Thank you for our daughter,” Hayley said.
“Thank you for our daughter,” Nick said. They sat there gazing at their baby girl and knew that they were a family and nothing could tear them apart.
