Chapter 1

Brizee sat on the bed in the bedroom of the house she shared with her husband, Nick Carter. Nick was on tour with his best friends and bandmates, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough, and AJ McLean. They called themselves the Backstreet Boys. Brizee and Nick have been married for twenty years. They have a eighteen year old son, Jason, and a fourteen year old daughter, Emily. She was packing a bag. Emily came in and sat down.

“Leighanne said she’ll be over in a little bit with Baylee,” Emily said.

“I promised you that I wouldn’t tell your father or Uncle Brian that you and Baylee are dating,” Brizee said.

“I know you won’t,” Emily said.

“I’ll be back in a couple days with Jason,” Brizee said. She was going to go see Jason up at Georgia Tech where he was going to college.

“I miss Jas,” Emily said.

“I know you do, honey, but it is spring break and I’m just going to pick him up,” Brizee said.

“I wish you got him a car to drive back and forth so he could come home and you won’t have to go get him,” Emily said.

“I know, honey, but he said he didn’t want a car, he said he was fine with me or your dad coming to get him,” Brizee said. She kissed Emily’s forehead. Leighanne came in with Baylee.

“I’m here, you better get going,” Leighanne said. Brizee hugged Emily and got her bag and went down and got her keys and purse and went out the door and got into her car and headed up to get Jason.

Leighanne sat in the living room with Emily and Baylee and watched TV with them when the phone rang. She reached over and picked it up.

“Hello, Carter residence,” Leighanne said.

“Leighanne, where’s my wife,” Nick said.

“She just left to go up and get Jason,” Leighanne said.

“Dammit,” Nick said.

“Nick, what’s going on,” Leighanne said.

“She had an affair, Leighanne, with your husband,” Nick said.

“I know, Brian told me,” Leighanne said.

“Yet no one told me, I found pictures on AJ’s phone,” Nick said.

“Because we knew how you would react,” Leighanne said.

“I can’t believe this,” Nick said.

“Nick, this happened ten years ago, Brian told me a couple of months ago, I forgave him and Briz,” Leighanne said.

“That is where we differ, Leighanne, I don’t think I can!” Nick said. He hung up. Leighanne hung up. Baylee and Emily looked at her.

“Mom,” Baylee said.

“I can’t believe this,” Leighanne said.

“Aunt Leigh?” Emily said.

“Your mom did something a long time ago and your father found out, it might be over for them,” Leighanne said.

“Mom, what happened,” Baylee said.

“Ten years ago, your father and Brizee had an affair, it went on for two weeks, your father confess to me a couple of months ago, I forgave him because I knew he loved me more than anything in the world, I forgave Brizee because she is my best friend, I forgave them because I knew it would never happen again, Nick found pictures on AJ’s phone, I don’t know why they were there or why AJ didn’t just delete them,” Leighanne said.

“Mom, we can’t let Aunt Brizee and Uncle Nick break up,” Baylee said.

“I know we can’t,” Leighanne said.

“Aunt Leigh,” Emily said.

“Your mom is three weeks pregnant, she found out today, she wanted to tell your dad first before telling you and Jason,” Leighanne said.

“Oh god,” Emily said. Baylee held her.

“Mom, we have to do something,” Baylee said.

“Let’s go up to Jason’s,” Leighanne said. They locked up the house and got into the car and headed up to Georgia Tech.
