Chapter 1 out with the old, in with the new.
I wake up. Hearing screaming as usual. I get up and get ready for school. When I was young, they said that their yelling was them being happy…yet I never really thought it was though. Seeing my mom being hit by my drunk dad hurt. Now I just try to sneak around the house, not getting involved. “YOU NEED TO STOP DRIN-” “OW” “YOU CANT TELL ME WHAT I CAN AND CANT DO” I hear a glass shatter “GET ME ANOTHER BEER, NOW” my mom walks past me, looking worried for what’s going to happen next. I quickly get out the house. Walking around with bruises felt… embarrassing. A girl comes up to me. Wearing some rich, expensive clothes. “Hey, are you ok?” I looked at her, she had long blonde hair, blue eyes, and she was just a little taller than me. “Um-oh-well” I say as I stutter. “Here, come with me” I follow her knowing no one at school would notice I’m gone.

I’m just some poor girl, wandering. “We’re here” I look as in front of is a huge HUGE mansion. These are the words that changed my life “You can stay with me now”
