An okay read

"The book's premise was interesting, murder on a cruise ship, it is a fresh and welcome addition to the detective genre with detectives that are not only not depressed alcoholics but also those that have a healthy relationship. However it falls short as a crime novel and reads more so like a very hastily written romance novel. The detectives do barely any work except for talking to the girls and telling the Captain, the POV of the killer would have been interesting if they had not just told us their while life story and psychological diagnosis in their first appearance (real people wouldn't just admit to their trauma so nonchalantly), the main characters talk like teenagers in a Wattpad romance novel and the conclusion comes with almost zero effort on their part. However the story did have an interesting cast and could be great with better detail and more realistic dialogues. "
