Chapter 1
Monday, another early tiring morning. Freya was always the first one to get up in the Alpha’s pack house to prepare all the meal for everyone. Obviously, since she’s the only omega in that house. Freya also has a friend, Sienna, who help her with the breakfast meal but only when she feels like it. Sienna lives in another building but she’s not an omega and she’s a subordinate’s daughter but prefer to be friends with her than with other equal kids.
Freya was under the care of the Blackmoon Alpha when she was only six years old, when her parents were killed by some rogues. Eleven years have passed by but she can still remember how the rogues killed her parents. Her father tried to protect her mother, while she was just watching it everything happened in a secret wall. Her mother hid her inside the secret tiny room before the rogues forcibly broke into their house.
Rogues left the messy house after killing her parents. Freya pushed the wall open and just sat down in front of the bleeding bodies of her parents for many hours, she didn’t count. Until she heard noises of people from the outside and it was too late to hide back to that secret wall.
“How are you kid?” asked by a younger version of Alpha Lucas, kneeling down to level with her face and no words came out of her mouth. Tears just started flowing down her cheeks again. “You’re coming with us since no one will look after you,” he said without waiting for her answer.
Freya remembered how the Alpha Lucas’ men buried her parents body outside their house before leaving her only home. A home she couldn’t even remember where it was located. She promised herself to find her home when she get a chance of her freedom. Three more weeks and Freya will turn eighteen and will be able to choose to go to another pack or go to the human world or go with her mate if she finds him. Those choices were given to all turning eighteen even for an omega like her, but her only problem was Dylan.
Just thinking about Dylan made her shiver. She continued working as fast as she can so she can leave the pack house early. Freya will soon finish her high school and after that she’ll try to work and earn a little bit of money and by then she could plan for the next step for her future. Freya wanted to really get away from that place. Far away from the Blackmoon pack and away from Dylan.
Dylan just turned twenty and now together with his mate, Raskea. He recently became the new Alpha of the Blackmoon pack. However, even when they were younger, Dylan was so vocal about making her his mate or his mistress. Dylan was so obsessed with her that most of the pack were against it and his obsession towards her had a negative impact on her. She was bullied when Dylan wasn’t around even his mother Olivia tried to make her suffer.
Freya was very thankful with Dylan as a friend but she could never imagine being with him. She could only imagine hell together with him not because he’s a bad choice but because of the werewolves surrounding them.
It was time for Freya to stopped thinking about negative things and start grabbing her things and get ready for school. She’s all done preparing the packs table for breakfast. She doesn’t need to stay for them to finish eating since there’s a helper who does the cleaning, and that’s Leah, a human who preferred to stay at the Alpha’s house.
Freya wore her black long sleeved and a baggy hoodie over it. Covered her blonde silver hair with a black thin scarf. In the Blackmoon pack, she’s the only one with blonde silver hair. Most of the people have black, brown, or red hair and she didn’t want to be the center of attention that’s why ever since she got there, she always cover her hair with black scarf or with her hoodies. Most of her clothes were given by Sienna or Dylan and she’s forever thankful for their generosity. She’s all done and ready to go. It will take her thirty minutes walk going to the school.
There’s a school bus for the subordinates’ sons and daughter but she was never welcomed to take the bus, so she always take the short cut. The freedom forest where Blackmoon pack and Bloodmoon pack can roam without any problems. Freya had been passing thru this forest ever since she started high school. She had never encountered any dangerous situation even though she had heard some gossips that Bloodmoon packs were dominating other Blackmoon members. There was once when she saw a group of Bloodmoon pack but they just watched her pass without even a word. At that time, she thought of going with them instead of coming back to the Blackmoon pack, but she knew that Dylan would do something if that ever happened even if she was just an Omega. Earlier, at the boundary of the forest and Blackmoon pack, she saw three youngsters from the Bloodmoon pack and they didn’t even bother to notice her. As if she was just an invisible human wolf.
The sun was just rising up and the light barely passed thru the big trees. Freya really loved the silence in that forest. She can only feel the calmness every time she walks there.
“Hmmmm...hmmm..” Freya started humming the famous song called ‘Yesterday’ by a famous band while she continue walking.
“H-help..”
Suddenly, Freya heard a voice saying something she couldn’t really understand so she stopped humming and listened carefully.
“P-please..help me,” a woman’s voice that gave Freya shivers to the bone. She could really tell that the woman was in pain.
“Where are you?” Freya asked looking around. Her wolf instinct hasn’t fully come out, so her hearing nor her smell was still a little bit poor. A wolf could either come out as early as twelve and even shift but an omega like her was expected her wolf to come out when she turns eighteen or later.
“I-I’m in a b-ush, p-please don’t l-eave m-e,” she cried.
How could she leave a person who sounded like a dying person. Freya tried to look into the big bushes and there she found a naked woman with a lot of scratches from her face down to her feet. She could really tell that the naked wonam was a werewolf but she wasn’t healing, maybe because her body was too exhausted.
“W-what’s your name?” Freya asked. She would know if this woman is from her pack by only knowing the name. Freya remembered all the name of the Blackmoon pack but not their faces.
“E-emily,” the naked woman answered and Freya knew she wasn’t from the Blackmoon p ack.
“Emily, I’m Freya,” she courteously introduced herself. “Can you get up?” Freya asked holding the woman’s arm so she could at least sit up.
“B-barely,” Emily answered and trying to get up.
“Wait, stay still,” Freya said taking her baggy hoodie off. Good thing she’s also wearing a black warm long sleeves. “Wear this,” Freya helped Emily to wear her hoodie.
“T-thank you,” Emily managed to say. At least now she’s covered.
Freya just nod putting her small back pack in front and helped Emily get up. She couldn’t even stand up straight. “I’ll carry you in my back,” Freya suggested since they will easily get to the Bloodmoon’s place than let Emily walk.
“B-but I’m heavy,” Emily was hesitant with Freya’s plan.
“It will be easier for the both of us, trust me,” Freya insisted.
Slowly, Emily climbed Freya’s back and started walking towards the Bloodmoon’s territory.
