Prologue: Her First Arrival

"Our words and minds so often don't align."

"We are here sweetie!"

A voice rang, waking up the young girl as she looks over sleepily to her mom and father, she makes a small noise stretching out before yawning. Her mom chuckles,

"Come on darling, if you don't get up now you won't be able to pick your bedroom."

Which caused the seven year old girl to immediately quickly get out of her seat and run into the house causing a chuckle from her parents. It was a decent one story house, nothing to special. 4 bedrooms, three baths, a kitchen and dining room fused, a living room, and a backyard for her to play around in. She finds a room she liked, with a decent size looking closet and big enough for someone of her size. When her parents entered the house and found the room she picked, they mused.

"So you really like this one?"

The girl nods looking over at her parents, before her father pipes in,

"I say while me and our little girl here go greet our across the street neighbors, why not you go get started with the easy stuff into the house?"

Her mom nods and went to do so, as soon the moving trucks came to help with unloading things into the house. Her father took her hand and the two went across the street, before her father knocks on the door. There was sounds of yelling before the door opens and a boy no older than ten was standing there looking at them,

"Hai...?"

He smiles,

"Hey there, me and my family moved just across the street. And me and my daughter here wanted to introduce ourselves."

He looks at him before over at his mom,

"Mom we have new neighbors."

She looks over and goes to head over to introduce herself while calming down the baby,

"Hai sorry everything's just such a mess here and-"

He chuckles,

"Don't worry about it, my name is Kyle Lanson, this is my daughter Fay. She has selective mutism, and just a shy one so don't worry if she doesn't warm up quickly"

He introduces giving Michael's mom a smile, she smiles back before looking at her,

"Hai there fay, it's nice to meet you."

Soon Michael's father yells from the kitchen,

"Hey bitch! You forgot the fucking dishes you dumbass!"

Michael's mother yelled back, while Michael noticed how tense Fay gotten due to the yelling. She looks back at him,

"I am guessing our kids go into the same school then? How old is your daughter"

Kyle chuckles,

"She's seven so probably yeah. If you want I can take your son and my daughter to the school, I don't mind."

She smiles feeling relieved,

"That would be great, Michael why don't you get your stuff so he can take you to school"

He nods and leaves to grab his things then come back, heading out of the house with them both. While Fay's dad went to go say goodbye to her mom, the two went into her room that still had to finish furnishing like the rest of the house. Michael watches Fay get her stuff, while looking around at her room. He soon looks over,

"You don't like aggressive yelling do you.."

Fay stops to look over and shakes her head, she finishes packing up and the two get dropped off at school. Michael takes her to the principles office to get her schedule not caring if he gets late. After that as the two walk out, Michael looks over at her,

"If anyone bullies you, you come to me...got it?"

She looks over and nods understanding, she soon gives him a quick hug before running off to her class. He smiled for the first time, well a small one, but it counted. Michael then went off, after school as Fay was heading out before seeing Michael sitting there. With a silent thought, she walks over as she sits besides him and looks over. Michael glances over at her,

"Oh hey, don't worry about it. Same old stuff anyways, no one bully you today did they?"

She shakes her head before pulling out a drawing and hands it to him, he takes it and looks. It was a drawing of a man standing there with a knife in his hand, beside him was Michael as he is now in that position too. He looks over at her,

"Did you do this?"

Fay nods smiling before looking at him, the two see a man walk into the principle's office after glancing at the two children. Fay stares at him while stiffening a bit again, Michael notices. He in his mind, deduced that she probably does it when she doesn't trust someone. But he didn't understand why she already trusted him, He pats her shoulder,

"I'm sure its fine, are you going trick or treating?"

She nods, before handing him another paper and leaves. He watches her then looks at the note, it was an invitation to join her. Michael looks up and smiles again, which didn't go unnoticed by his mom and the strange man.

When Halloween rolled out, after his mom left and his sister and her boyfriend went to her room. He went to sit outside, only to see Fay walk out of her house with her dad, she was dressed up as a princess. Fay noticed him and waves, he gets up and heads over. Her dad looks at them,

"So you guys ready for trick or treating?"

The two nodded before he took them out around to get candy, when they returned. Fay gave him a hug before he walked back to his house, while her and her dad head back inside their own. What they didn't expect was for them to head out of the house to the sounds of police sirens, and Fay ran over to try to stop the police from taking Michael away but one of them had to pick her up to stop her advances. The last thing Michael sees before he gets taken away is Fay standing there holding her dad's hand, with a confused and lonely expression.

Something that is going to be burned into his memory forever.
