Prologue

I am standing in front of the mirror as a bride in place of my twin sister wearing red sari which is her favorite color and temple jewelries which are again her favorite. I am not comfortable in this sari not with this jewelry. I don’t want to get married in this age and not to him. I have a dream, dream to fly high, pursue my passion for writing to marry the person with whom I fall in love adopt a boy a girl and one of my own blood then adopt two dogs my perfect family , but all are not fairy tales.

When I look myself in the mirror, I can see my dreams shattering the way card castle will shatter with a breeze. Nobody cares what I want, no one asked me if I am ready for this to hold my family’s pride, they are sacrificing myself.

I heard a knock on the door my mother and my aunty enters saying “Anjana the muhurta time started Suraj is already sitting in puja waiting for you come let’s go “.I looked my mother pleading through my eyes to leave me here and let me run away from this. Seeing my face my aunt said “Anjana we know what you are going through but you need to do this for your family for your sister for Suraj for Suraj’s family “. Do they really know what I am going though I wonder?

“What about me ??“I asked them, but they don’t have any answer.

“if you want to run away run but keep in mind you will see 7 dead bodies “my mom said looking sternly. Feeling defeated I walk with them to wedding hall, a single tear rolled down through my cheeks I quickly wiped them and put a fake smile walking in between the people who are gathered to witness the marriage
