Chapter 1: how it all started
"owwww, Emily!! what the heck?!"Ember said angrily as she got up from the ground, dusting off her shorts. "sorry Em, didn’t see you there" Emily said, not even looking to face Ember. "what are you looking at?" She said walking over to where Emily was by the slide."that girl over there, she looks lost"Emily was pointing to a tiny girl sitting under the playground. "well, let’s go talk to her!" said Ember, she quickly grabbed Emily’s hand and headed towards the girl."Hi!"0
she said "I’m Ember! and this is my big sister Emily!"she said excitedly "what’s your name??where are your parents? do you have any-" She was cut off by Emily covering her mouth with her hand " Em! your asking her to many questions, give her some time to respond idiot!"
They both looked back at the girl slightly giggling."you guys are funny" she said smiling "m-my name is Hayden" she said looking away
"a-and i don’t know where my m-mom went" tears began to stream down her face "it’s okay! we’ll help you find her!" Ember pitched in "don’t cry, please" a wave of pity fell over Ember
" maybe you can come play with us until your mom gets back?" she said putting her hand out for hayden to grab "o-okay" Ember then held her hand and ran over to the big red slide

"how old are you?!" Ember asked as she sat on the swing "i’m 6" Hayden said sitting in the swing next to him " haha i’m 9" Emily said across from the two of them on a twister
"HAYDEN!" the girls heads quickly shot towards the direction the shout was coming from "Hayden, oh my stars! I was looking for you everywhere! are you okay?" Hayden got up from the swing and gave her mother a big hug "yeah i’m okay, i met some friends though!" her mother then looks at the other two girls and gave them a warm smile "hello girls" the girls just wave back at her "emily! ember! time to come home" their parents called out from their car "bye bye ember! i’ll see you soon!" hayden said giving her a hug "um.." ember said, "uh.." a puzzled look grew on Hayden’s face "w-will you be my friend?" she said looking straight into Hayden’s eyes "of course!" they gave each other one last hug before going separate ways
