Intro
Shelby was different. She was different in a world filled with magic. Probably not in the way of different you would think either. She’s not powerful but she’s powerless. She was born unlike her family, and everyone else, powerless.
Her family was quite known for their powers however she was known for not having any. Her mom, who was a senator, had the power of preseason. Her dad, who worked in the military, had the power to teleport. Her younger sister, Volet, had the power to change her appearance and finally, her baby brother who was only five had the power of comfort.
Sometimes she felt she wasn’t even supposed to be there. Sometimes she would wake up in the middle of the night with the most fearful nightmares. They felt so real, yet she was in this world. One where everything was just fine. She felt as if she was there herself. She felt a times as if she belonged to a whole different group of people.
I mean, who else in her world didn’t have powers? Shelby has never not known anyone at all to not have some type of powers.
Even the people at her school. However, like most of the world she was also looked down upon at her school, for not having some sort of powers. She was a freak in a world filled with them.
Shelby didn’t really have many friends because she was different either. She spent most of her days in school by herself writing.
Writing about this other world that just appeared in the back of her head. She’s never told a sole about it because it was something that made her feel less different. Less alone in the world that was supposed to be hers.
