-Curfew-
It was early morning, I was up doing dishes all night. I couldn't sleep again. The water was cold on my hands it grounded me, telling I made it, I'm ok now, I'm safe.
The old door creaked open. I jumped in surprise. I grabbed the knife and went for the door.
"Hey,hey! It's just me D ,clam down." My best friend, Rose said in her soft,sweet,voice.
"Oh sorry Rose. You can't do that."
"Sorry girl." She said giving me her puppy eyes.
"Uh it's fine just come in and lock the door will you."
"So where's Jen?"
Rose asked, her tan skin glowing in the light from the window above the sink. She tilted her head, her long, black, braided hair falling in her face.
"She's-"I was was cut off by my little sister.
"ROSIE!!!"
She said jumping on Rose like she was five again. "Hey." Rose said looking down at her.
"What are you doing here?"
"Jenny! Be nice!"
"Sorry." Jenny said rolling her hazel eyes.
"It's fine." Rose said her dark brown eyes squinting as her bright smile takes up her face.
"Ugh well sit down am going to make food." Jenny's head turned so fast I think she got whiplash.
Her light, short ,curly brown hair getting in her face. "Oh no you're not! Last time you burnt the food to a crisp!" And okay so Fair.
"One time!" I said my pale skin turning pink in embarrassment.
"Hehe why not not let Jen get the food for once, she's big now D." Rose said, a hit of laughter in her soft voice.
"Ya am fourteen now!" Jenny said her bold eyes cutting thorough my soul.
"Fine. But be fast it's getting close to nine." I said, sounding defeated.
And that was the biggest mistake I have ever made in my life.
"YAY!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!" Jenny screamed happily. She hugged me so tight I could hardly breathe.
My green eyes followed her to the door. It slammed shut behind her. I got butterflies in my stomach.
'Go get her!'. A peace of my mind said.
I sut it out though. 'She's old enough now' I said to my self.
I guess Rose could see how scared I was because she was in front of before I could even blink.
"Hey."She said in her softest tone of voice.I signed.
"She's going to be ok,you know that right?She's strong." She said while pushing my long brown hair out of my eyes.
"Y-Ya I know."
I tried my best at a smile.
Her hand was so soft on my face. I blushed. She looked so cute today.
"Good." She smiled before kissing me on the cheek like she always did. And the next thing I knew I was sleeping on the hard couch with rose beside me.
All I heard was Rose soft snoring. ' Ugh what time is it?' I thought to myself. I looked at my power free watch since the phone's have been down when this all started. "Huh ten wow that's new." I said to myself still being quiet since Rose was still asleep. It was only twenty minutes but still a lot for me.
"Wait....TEN! JENNY!!! " I screamed. I jumped as fast as I could to go to Jennys room.
"TEN! JENNY!!!" I Heard a voice yell. Soon the once warm spot was now cold.
I fell off the hard couch and...wait when was I on a couch? Then it all came back to me like a hammer to the head.
Wait where is Jenny? What time even is it But I didn't have time to answer myself when I heard crying coming from Jenny's room.
"Jenny?" I asked going up the wooden stairs. But instead I saw Danny sitting in the door way.
"S-She's gone." Danny sounded so broken.
I went over to sit bye her. She started up at me her green eyes wet from crying and face red. Why is she crying? What does she mean bye she's gone?
And that was when it really all hit me. Jenny went out to get food. But why was Danny crying? How long where they asleep for? Did Jenny not come back? .... And oh,oh God she didn't did she.
