Prologue
Get away. He had to get away. After all the hate and threats he finally couldn’t take it. He has tried to work through it for eight years but the hate comments became thicker and thicker every year. Even after talking through the pain and being told these people are insecure and to make themselves better bring him down, the words still cut to his heart… deep. Comments repeated through his head with no end.
Shaking out of his thoughts, he continued to write the note meant for his friends. He told them he was going to miss them but he needed to find his happiness without the pain of having hate comments come everyday.
It was 2 AM in the dorms and all the lights were turned off. He walked slowly and slickly to the main kitchen where the group would have meals together. He turned on the kitchen light, it wasn’t unusual for him to do this as he would sometimes wake up from nightmares and grab a midnight snack. He wore a small smile biting back the tears. Memories of laughs and jokes filled his mind. He shook it away and placed the note on the end of the table, his hands shaking the whole time. He looked in the mirror on the adjacent wall and saw a broken man. His eyes were swollen from the late night cries he would have almost every night. He kept all this to himself as he didn’t want to seem weak.
He had planned this whole thing out for a month. He made sure that his hair was black for the next comeback so when he would hide in the country somewhere he wouldn’t seem out there with the red hair that he had in the past. He was going to miss this next comeback, the song supposed to be released in two days. It was too late for them to cancel it, he did this on purpose as he wanted them to go on without him. With filming being done two months ago and the countdown video done around the same time he was set to go. He even left all recordings needed with the next comeback if they are to use them.
He went back into his room and grabbed his duffel bag and the 11 million won (close to $100,000) he took out of his account three days ago. Even though it looks suspicious it makes it so they can’t track down what he spends his money on like it would be with a card.
As he opened the dorm door and one last look back he walked down the hall and into the elevator. It felt slow as ever as his adrenaline picked up. He reached the front doors of the building and walked into the dark bitter night. Jung Hoseok was going to be free.
