Emma's POV
Times were different before. Werewolf clans all lived as separate packs with constant wars raging among them. They fought for territories, dominance, power and slaughtered each other by doing so. Since more and more warriors were needed, children as young as 15 or even 14 would be sent in battles and killed mercilessly. That’s why Aiden Blackmore, my father’s father decided It was time put an end to constant war and came up with idea to unite Clans so that they would be able to protect one another and other clans would be afraid to attack united force. 7 neighboring clans made a peace treaty and two of the Strongest Clan heirs were married – my mom and dad, My Dad named to be the first Alpha of our pack by the alphas’ council. Soon others followed grandpa’s steps and other Alliances were formed, one in our neighboring land in the south led by Elmond Clan heir and three more in the North. Few months ago our trusted man from the northern border found out that northern Packs were forming secret alliance and preparing for war. Neither of southern alliances would be able to withstand a union that powerful alone, so in order to protect our pack, father was forced to make treaty with the other southern pack and our council of alphas decided to secure this new alliance with marriage between the leading clans.
As an only child and heir of Alpha Nicklaus Blackmore, I was raised to be the future leader, from my early years. I tried my best to be worthy of the title and worked really hard for as long as I can remember. As much as knowledge and leadership skills were crucial, for warewolf leaders physical strength and battle skills mattered the most. I was trained by our best warriors and sent to accomplish missions with our soldiers. I didn’t mind, quite the opposite, actually enjoyed every part of it. My father couldn’t restrain from hearty laughter when I defeated His Beta - William, in last year’s competition. William was commander of our military forces and probably the best among our warriors, He was huge and really strong but I was conveniently small and the fastest in the pack. Father was so proud I still remember his face.
Life had obviously different plans for me and here I am getting ready for my arranged marriage to Alfa Christian Elmond to unite forces with his pack. I never gave much thought to marriage before, I was raised to be a warrior and a leader. I couldn’t imagine myself being just a wife, especially to someone I had never met before. It didn’t matter anymore, even if I had to be nothing more than a pretty little wife, I would gladly hand over myself to Christian Elmond, as long as it meant to strengthen and protect my pack from the coming war.
