Chapter 1

Look up

It was a few years ago when this happened to me, so I remember most things. I also took screenshots, anyway, it was 3 am when I decided to turn on this site called Osaygele. In case you don’t know what that is, it’s a site where you get sent to a virtual chat with someone. When I opened the app I was connected to a chat with a pretty attractive guy. In one of the screenshots of our conversation he introduced himself as Andre, here I’ll show you the screenshot of the chat:

Me: Hello.

Stranger: Hi, I’m Andre, what’s your name?

Me: My name is Atheleah.

Stranger: It’s nice to meet you, Atheleah.

Me: It’s nice to meet you, too.

After this we just made random small talk, so I’ll scroll to the part where the weird parts happen. Ah here:

Stranger: You should turn your camera on.

Me: I’m okay.

Stranger: Oh c’mon. Turn it on.

After that, I looked up to see him creepily smiling at me. It was like his eyes were popping out of his skull, I remember when he said “turn it on” using the mic, he was looking behind his phone screen. Like he was looking at someone else. Oh, and then he said “We’re all waiting” into the mic again. So in the chat - I was still too scared to turn on my mic and camera- I wrote:

Me: Wdym by “we’re all waiting”? Are you with someone?

“Turn your camera on, and I’ll tell you” He said next. This is when my heart kind of accelerated, so I was moving my mouse to end the call, but then it froze. So, instead, I wrote in the chat saying:

Me: Fine.

Right then, I had turned my camera on. But I really wish I didn’t. After I did, he was smiling creepily at me again, but he wasn’t alone. In the background, was a very tall man, with a bird mask. It looked kind of like a crow.

Me: Look behind you!

I had tried warning him, but as soon as I pressed send, another man, who looked exactly like the first, had a firm grip on Andre’s shoulders. So with me trying to help, I wrote:

Me: Hey! Let go of him!

But, instead of letting go, his camera flashed, went blank, and when it came back on, both bird men had their hands on Andre’s shoulders, and neck causing him to turn his neck all the way to the side, to rest on his right shoulder. All three of them were shaking, at the time I thought they were cold, but then I realised, they were laughing.

Me: What’re you laughing at?

I had asked, expecting an answer, but instead, the three guys were pointing at me. Well, really, it was at something behind me, which I didn't realize till I looked in my camera and saw a third tall birdman, standing behind me. But when I turned around, there was nothing but my bed. So I turned back around, to see a third bird man with a firm grip on Andre. Then all of a sudden, the bird people disappeared. And Andre had typed in the chat:

Stranger is typing…

Stranger: Don’t look at my camera, please!

Stranger: Please, look here!

Me: Why?

Stranger: Just do it! Just do it!

Stranger: Ljhbfjehbgj Oshbfiwetgbvhiurtwyhg OjhdbfwjbjtbgjtgK jhbhfijhbvgtUfufyhvuyvbubyP

At that moment, I realised there were bolded letters, so I only read the bolded ones. When I did, it said LOOK UP. I slowly tore my eyes away from the chat box, and looked at his camera. I really wish I didn’t, because when I did, The three bird men had their hands around Andre’s throat. When I saw that, I remember falling out of my chair. But when I sat back up, Andre was mouthing “help me, please”. I was so stupid, and instead of calling somebody or leaving the call I typed in the chat:

Me: How can I help you?

I knew I shouldn’t have sent that, because the second I did, the same gibberish nonsense was popping up again, look this screenshot here shows it:

I was so tempted to leave the call then, but my mouse was still frozen so I couldn’t, I had no choice but to look up. To my surprise, when I looked at Andre’s camera box, he was gone, all that was left was the bird men. All three were pointing into the camera. When I looked behind me again, there wasn’t just nothing this time, on the wall above my bed, written in blood:

Don’t look back!

Of course, I looked back, and saw nothing. But Andre was back,

his mouth seemed to be sealed shut and there was a message in the chat box:

Stranger: Why did you look back?

So I answered:

Me: I don’t know.

Stranger: Well… you shouldn’t’ve. It was nice meeting you.

Right there, after that I saw a fourth birdman. But he was much much taller than the others, maybe seven or eight feet tall. But anyway, the fourth birdman stabbed Andre with a knife of some kind. The part that bothered me the most, which has caused all of my nightmares, was when Andre mouthed “bye, see you soon”. That’s when I unplugged my monitor, and threw it out my window. And now, I’m talking to you.

“Yes….You remember, I told you.” The officer said

“What do you mean? You told me?” I asked confused.

“I told you, I’d see you soon.” The officer said.

“What… are you talk-”

“You shouldn’t’ve looked up.” The officer said interrupting me, before my hearing, sight and consciousness gave up on me. I felt my life slowly slipping away.
