Mr Cocopops
I was about 6 when it happened. A young, innocent and fairly skinny Year 1 black boy with a massive Afro, one I would stick pencils in when I was bored in class. Mind you a lot of people thought it was a riot! I could have probably started a carnival act if I wanted to! But that was besides the point, I was very clueless at that age, as you would expect I guess. I mean, what kind of 6 year old has a full understanding of life and it’s morals? Definitely not me. But again that isn’t the point I’m trying to get to. It happened in the school hall, my school was fairly big for a primary. There was a massive field, grass greener than a grasshopper. A medium sized playground with a short basketball court and a garage. Yes that’s right a garage, where all of the sports and P.E equipment would go. I remember playing with my friends in that garage, there were small narrow pathways that me and my friends would go down and play in. Despite it being against the rules. All it would take is one teacher and you’re entire break would be over, not in the sense that you would be in detention, but that you would be asked to move away from the garage. There was also an area of concrete where all of the boys would play football. I would occasionally play but I was more focused on playing shooter games and action games with my ‘real friends’ around the garage. In the football games played, no one would pass the ball and most games would end 0-0. It was occasionally 5-5 and at the end of break someone would score a last minute screamer and everyone would go crazy. Even the other team. But again I’m getting back tracked, back to the school hall. The hall was where I would get food from the canteen, the school dinners were, okay I guess. The pizza was extremely good, better than dominoes in my opinion. But that was controversial. Anyways, I was standing in a long line mixed with all of the years. I was never scared of the other years, unlike everyone else in key stage 1. In fact I had a friend in Year 6 at that time and he was really nice. I nearly cried in Year 2 when he left. He probably has a full family now. Back to the point, I entered the canteen and got myself a pizza and went to sit down when a massive ginger buzz cutted year 6 boy approached me. His name was Kenzie and he was a trouble maker. But I was about to find out he was a racist as well. Yeah I said it.
