Matching Matilda

All Rights Reserved ©

Summary

It's been seven years since Matilda became eligible to attend the island's annual matching event, So far, she has managed to avoid matching with anyone. Instead, she has lived her life, happily unmatched, in her home community. Matilda is not against the idea of matching entirely. She just knows what she wants and is not prepared to settle for anything less. Armed with an array of match deterrents to fend off undesirables, she sets off to survive this year's event. Will anyone be able to wriggle their way into her heart through her defences?! The West's Leadership team, Gryff, Carwyn and Gareth, are also at the event, along with the other Ranked and Eligible from each of the island's nine regional communities. Find out what happens when the event opens with an unimpressive 'clang' on a very small, portable gong! Matching Matilda is set in a world where communities are organised like packs and matches are drawn together by scent and gaze. These days, many think that matches are drawn together by genetic compatibility while others still believe they are fated by the Gods. Covering all bases, the annual singles' event keeps with tradition and takes place in high Summer, during a full moon (the Matching Moon). Cover Image Credit: Mark Peers

Welcome!

Welcome!

This story is mainly rated 18+ because some of its characters like to scatter coarse language like it is confetti at a wedding.

In addition, it contains a small number of scenes that some may find triggering (self identity, sexual orientation and associated harassment). A warning is placed at the start of relevant chapters. If you feel that I have missed any, please let me know and I will add them.

This story is set in a world where love and relationships come in different shapes, sizes and orientations. If this is likely to upset or offend, then it is possible that you may not enjoy it.

This story is a draft to capture characters and plot. It is also a slow burn story with lots of different characters who move the story forwards from their own perspectives. Currently updates are slow as I have a new job that only leaves me with time at weekends to write.

I hope that you enjoy it!
