Chapter 1
There was once a dog. He lived in the shelter. He was not like the other dogs. He was very shy. The others laughed and played around him. Some of the dogs made fun of him, they called him a ‘mute’. This always hurts his feelings. So then one day a girl named Ava walked in and she saw him and picked him up. She walked to her mother and said “I want this dog”. “Ok” said Mom. So they took the dog home and they played fetch. But the girl could not figure out what to call
the dog. The next day she took him outside and she saw him playing with mom’s pottery.
She knew the new dog loved clay. She named him Clay.
