Bryce's Forward

A crushing blow.A searing pain.An obsessive memory. Every bit of me feels numb as I walk through the glass doors of the sanctuary. Every step I take feels heavy, and nothing I do seems to take away the pain faster than time. All I hear is the sound of the clock. Time feels like a distant mountain, yet it slows down when I walk to a row and take a seat. The time I spent falling in love with someone has now given me nothing but the empty hands of betrayal. No one wants to take the time to mend a broken heart.

Now everything I see as I watch the people I’m sworn to protect isn’t envied. It’s the urge to cry out on ageist so the heavenly gates would hear me. A vacant glass of hopelessness holds the one cherished memory of my heart. But like a dagger through my chest while a sinking feeling plagues me at what I thought would last.

However, when it’s all over; new enlightenment shines above my black and damp cloud. With each step; it becomes a little easier to breathe, and as the new day begins, I remember; there’s always a silver lining. To every broken heart, there is always a positive side and an added experience. Slowly my lips curve into a smile.

As I rise up from my seat I head out much stronger and braver than before. With each past experience that life has given me, I remember through the heavy blows that my pain will heal. For better.Or for worse. With my strides long and my sights beyond the horizon, that someone I once knew, fades into a distant memory.

Yours Truly,

Bryce Leandro
