"I just finished reading this story. I thought the story was well written. This was one of those "deep thought(s)" stories. The plot was sketchy and unclear until the very end which made it very engaging. I didn't know how I felt about the outcome of the story because it was a tragedy of sorts, but in a way they both got what they most desired in the end. As a teacher I see first hand on a day-to-day basis the affect (damage) a parent can inflict on their kid(s) psyche. Hella was a victim of cruelty, and it became hardwired into her psyche. Was she beyond redeemable? Possibly....... but not with Gabriel, because he was just as damaged as she was. They were a true Yin/Yang couple. She feared life, and he feared death, but they both feared the possibility of rejection. How sad and tragic that these two let other people's "word vomit" mitigate their life choices. In terms of technical writing skills I thought this story was good. I am not a writer and my writing skills "blow like the wind" so who am I to judge. Keeping writing!"

"I started reading this book with such a good feeling, I was 100% convinced it would end in some romantic happily-ever-after way. The end had me crying a little, I can't lie about that. It was completely different from what I expected and I wish it wouldn't end like that, nonetheless it is a very beautiful book and I think the book's ending is what makes this story very memorable! I adore the writing style. Overall, I definitely think 'Dying Slowly' is a good story and I'm glad I read it!"

"I did like how the plot came together. I would recommend it to my friends, it was a good reed. The ending did leave me wanting more. An alternate ending where Hella hadn't died but turned, with Gabriel still becoming immortal would have been sweet. However this wasn't really a love story, "ugly duckling" meets beast, where honest real beauty dies. I did appreciate how every day He visited her grave, to show his gratitude for the sacrifice she so willing Made."
